The South City Bike Tour was designed to take you though some of the most well-known beaches neighborhoods in order to let you experience the carioca way of life. We start biking to Praia Vermelha, a small beautiful beach located at the foot of the world famous sugar loaf mountain.

We then cycle to the pleasant neighborhood that was named after the beautiful hill we cycle around Urca. Then we cycle on the city´s bike lanes to Flamengo Park, which is the largest leisure area in Latin America. The bike lane leads us into the neighborhood at the entrance of one of the unique places in Rio, Favela Santa Marta.

We´ll cycle to get a change of scenery at the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon where we see a different viewpoint of the city. We continue cycling to Ipanema beach and finish the tour by riding back through Copacabana beach, learning more about the most famous neighborhood of the city.

The Morro da Urca (227m) and the Sugar loaf (396m) are part of the tourist complex from the sugarloaf, currently recognized as natural monument by unesco. The protected area lies on the banks of Guanabara bay and is one of the main postcards of Rio de Janeiro. The most authentic way to know the site is climb the Morro da Urca track and then ride the most famous cable car in the world.

The trail of Urca begins in track Claudio Coutinho, paved road to the cove shores of the red beach. The guide will lead the group along the trail to reach a plateau where you can admire a beautiful view of Guanabara bay and the center of Rio de Janeiro. During the tour, it is common to see some monkeys carrying their young. We followed in nice trail to the summit of Morro da Urca, where is located the first terminal of the cable car.

It picks up where the second level of the cable car to go to the summit of sugar loaf and from there you can enjoy the stunning scenery from the top of the newest Unesco's natural monument.
The sunset of the Urca hill ridge is one of the most beautiful images of the city, so we give the possibility to do the tour in the afternoon.

Av. Niemeyer, 121 – Leblon

The Dois Irmãos hill has 533 meters of altitude and is located between the neighborhoods of Leblon and Sao Conrado, right in the Rio's waterfront. Considered one of the most interesting tracks of the city, is the perfect viewpoint to understand the occupation and social contrasts of Rio de Janeiro. The trail starts at the top of Vidigal, so we will start our tour as an authentic local resident, using transport circulating inside the slum.

The guide will lead the group through the forest to the first viewpoint, from there you can see the magnificence of one of the largest slums in Latin America, Rocinha.. The next observation deck allows beautiful views of Pedra da Gávea and Pedra Bonita, in addition to the carioca hill and the Corcovado.

The tour continues to the summit of two brothers, from there one can see all the south zone of Rio, Botafogo Leblon. Feel the receptivity of the Vidigal community and enjoy the beauty of one of the most beautiful natural lookouts in Rio de Janeiro.

The Corcovado has 710m altitude and is the main tourist attraction in Rio de Janeiro. Located within the boundaries of the Tijuca National Park, is the statue pedestal of Christ the Redeemer, Rio postcard and one of the seven wonders of the modern world. The trail Corcovado takes us by a sector of the Tijuca National Park, where we can see several species of animals and their habitat. Capuchin monkeys, toucans, hawks and possums are often seen in search of food.

The tour begins at Parque Lage, one of the nicest parks Rio and a historical and scenic heritage of the city. The tour of Corcovado track requires moderate physical effort, as we will overcome steep climbs through thick jungle and some natural obstacles along the way. We follow the trail crossing the tracks where the train passes and finally reach the ultimate goal of the tour: the statue of Christ the Redeemer.

The entrance to the statue is already included. After the visit, the descent is made by the same trail to the Parque Lage.

The Pedra Bonita trail requires physical effort and on the top you can enjoy one of the most spectacular views of Rio de Janeiro. Beautiful stone is a natural lookout point that reaches 693m above sea level. Due to its prime location, the Pedra Bonita region also has the only ramp gliding landings in the city of Rio de Janeiro from where you can fly on hang gliding or paragliding.

The ramp has a stand so that we can watch the takeoffs and it is also the best spot to take some photos. The setting at the top of Pedra Bonita is gorgeous: the Pedra da Gávea in all its magnificence is revealed between the beaches of Barra da Tijuca and São Conrado, with the immensity of the Tijuca forest composing around us, which gives the place a peace and unique beauty. A movie set that also provides one of the best angles to enjoy the sunset in Rio de Janeiro.

This tour will take you up to Santa Marta by the cable car to the top of the favela along with residents, where tourists feel the taste of the favela walking through alleys and lanes where they tell story of the community and distinguished visitors such as queen elizabeth ii, michael Jackson, Madonna, Vin Diesel, Hugh jackman (wolverine), Alicia keys, Bradley Cooper, Spike lee and others. at the top of the favela lays a panoramic view of the city, where you see the christ, sugar loaf, Botafogo beach, Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas and Botafogo neighborhood.

Board in an open jeep toward Rocinha favela is the biggest favela in Latin America. Located between Gávea and São Conrado this favela has about 15 thousand habitants. In this tour we will walk thought narrows seeing the day-to-day of the favela. We stop in the neighborhood commercial center, largo do Boiadeiro, they have an open air fare, with beverages, typical foods and handicrafts. We end our tour passing through the Tijuca rain forest – the largest urban forest in the world.

This tour starts at Marina da Glória, where we will board on a boat in Guanabara bay toward the most beautiful beaches in Rio. We will be sailing through the east side of sugar loaf, Vermelha beach, and Cotonduba Island. We will be able to see the statue of Christ from the sea. In route to the Cagarras islands, you can see Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon. After swimming in the sea we will taste some delicious wines (red & white).
