A visit to Zambezi National Park is one of the must-do activities in Victoria Falls and gives you the opportunity to see most members of the Big Five, in particular the mighty elephants which grace this area. Have a chance to enjoy a double activity both a land 4 x 4 game drive and lunch cruise on the mighty zambezi river.
This area is prolific with wildlife, and other game you will spot includes impala, buffalo, giraffe, warthog and kudu which are found in large numbers in this park. This African game drive lasts approximately Six hours, giving you the opportunity to see a wide variety of animals as well as birds and plants that are exclusive to and synonymous with this magnificent game park, finish your drive with a 2hours Lunch cruise on the upper and calmer part of the Zambezi river, with luck you might also spott some game during the cruise.
On the sunset cruise, meander between the islands above 'The Smoke that Thunders", the local name given to the Victoria Falls and discover bountiful wildlife and birdlife. On this cruise the guests are welcomed with an alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverage on the boat whilst given a safety talk and a brief history of the river on the outset of the trip.
Whilst on the cruise the guests are offered drinks from the fully stocked bar and a range of mouthwatering snacks.
You will be collected at your hotel reception for a short transfer to the Boma. This excursion provides a unique cultural experience that bombards the senses with the tastes, sights, sounds and smells of Africa. Together with the warmth and hospitality of Zimbabwe , and its people.
The Boma nestles in a Gusu Forest and is partly open to the spectacular African night skies.
Your visit to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe is incomplete without the pleasure and thrill of taking part in our fishing safaris. Our experienced Captains/Guides will take you on a cruise along the (upper) Mighty ZAMBEZI river to the best fishing spots where you can try skill/luck at landing the mighty tiger fish and any of the many different fish species that inhabit these waters. You will be served with finger snacks and light refreshments during the 3 hour fishing cruise.
Enjoy a 3 course meal on the mighty Zambezi river boat cruise. Guests are picked up from their hotel /lodge in Victoria Falls and transferred to the Khanondo jetty. On arrival guests are welcomed onto the boat by our captain and given a safety briefing and a brief history of the river on the outset of the trip. You then cruise on the mighty Zambezi River downstream towards the falls down to Palm Island and then up the Zambezi to catch the spectacular african sunset.
Your buffet dinner start just after the sunset and all dietary requirements are catered for as long as a request have been made upon booking. A full open local bar and spirits is served to all clients during the course of the cruise. If you are lucky you might have a chance to see some game that is hippos, crocodiles, water bucks and sometime elephants swimming. After dinner guests will then be taken back to their respective hotels.
A friendly Khanondo host will collect clients from all accommodation in Victoria Falls. As the excursion does not include breakfast, we advise you to order a packed breakfast the night before at your accommodation and collect it early that morning (most lodges and hotels provide this service). You will then be collected and transferred by us to the main camp in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe, which is situated approximately 180km away and takes two hours to drive there.
The estimated time of arrival at the main camp is at 7am. We will then take a quick detour to collect a packed lunch for you from the local kitchen in Hwange, after which we proceed directly into the park itself after liaising with the officials and begin our African tour and safari into the wilderness. The drive will end around 4pm at the exit of the park, from where you will once again be transferred by your friendly Khanondo host to your Victoria Falls accommodation.
Please remember to organize a packed breakfast from your hotel. You will be collected from your Hotel reception for your day trip to Hwange National Park. A 2 hour drive which takes you through the small town of Hwange, and an area of rural Africa with villages and fields dotted about the landscape. On arrival at Hwange Safari Lodge you will transfer to an open Game Viewing vehicle for your picnic day trip into the Park.
Hwange is one of the largest Parks in Africa and is home to the last great free ranging Elephant populations which move between Hwange and Chobe in Botswana. The park is also home to over 103 other large Mammal species and over 300 species of birds.
To put the Victoria Falls into true perspective, they must really be seen from the air. The sheer size and grandeur of the spectacle becomes clear when viewed from above. The huge Zambezi River flowing slowly south with hippos and crocodiles clearly visible in the shallow waters, elephant quietly browsing on bright green islands as the water spreads across the full width of a great rent in the earth before crashing over the lip in a burst of spray and then squeezing into a narrow, foaming, blast of water rushing down the zig zag funnel of the gorges. An unrivalled view of the Victoria Falls and surrounding National Parks area“…scenes so lovely, must have been gazed upon by Angels in their Flight”.

You will be collected for your full day trip to Chobe National Park in Botswana. A 1 hour drive to the border where you will disembark and clear immigration out of Zimbabwe a 2 minute walk through the Border and you will be met by your Botswana Guide. A short drive to the Botswana Border where you once again disembark and clear immigration into Botswana. A 20 minute drive to Chobe Safari Lodge where your Safari will begin. Chobe National Park is one of the greatest game reserves in southern Africa and famous for the number of elephant that live there. The Chobe River flows lazily through the Caprivi flood plains and provides a haven for huge herds of buffalo and elephant, zebra, wildebeest, lechwe and impala which are followed closely by predators including lion, hyena, the elusive leopard and the odd pack of the now rare wild dog. The bird life in particular is exceptional.
The Safari starts with a morning game viewing cruise on the Chobe River with tea, coffee, drinks and light snacks being served on board. Large flocks of birds, big pods of hippo and very large crocodiles are all around. After disembarking, lunch is then taken at the Chobe Safari Lodge, which overlooks the Chobe River and the flood plains beyond. In the afternoon, open safari vehicles are used for a game drive into the park. The game drive meanders its way back to Customs and Immigration, before crossing the border and then transferring back to Victoria Falls at approximately 18:30.
