The Icelandic horse is a breed that has remained virtually unchanged since the Vikings brought it to Iceland in the 9th century. Enjoy a riding tour in the idyllic landscape of Laxnes, located just out of Reykjavik city. The riding tour is suitable for all ages and experience levels, from beginner to expert.
After the riding experience there will be about an hour to relax and have a bite to eat before we join our Golden Circle Afternoon tour, which leaves Reykjavík at 13:00, and head to the National Park Þingvellir, with its remarkable geological features. The Icelandic Parliament - Alþingi - was founded on the site in 930 AD., making it the oldest still-functioning parliament in the world.
We visit the impressive glacial waterfall Gullfoss and the geothermal area around Geysir and Strokkur with its spouting geysers. The tour takes us through fertile agricultural areas before heading back to Reykjavík over the mountain heath Hellisheiði.
On this tour, you’ll spend a few hours exploring the world’s most northerly capital city alongside an expert guide. Reykjavik is the stuff of postcards – its colourful corrugated iron buildings have been neatly arranged against a backdrop of snowy mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. To get the best view of it all, you’ll call in at Hallgrimskirkja Church. You can pay a small amount to take the lift to the top of the tower, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the whole city. Another highlight of this trip is Harpa. This multi-million-pound opera house dominates the city’s harbour thanks to its huge size and unique geometric glass design. Other stops on this tour include City Hall, Summit House, and the dome-shaped Perlan building.

First things first, make your way over to the pretty peninsula of Snæfellsnes over on the west side of Iceland. Snæfellsjökull Glacier is one of the world's most iconic glaciers and it’s not hard to see why. You’ll find this 1,446 metre high Glacier at the furthest point West of The Snæfellsnes Peninsula. This volcano is a far cry from the norm which typically have steaming craters and instead has a glacier at its peak.
Travelling through the Snæfellsnes peninsula and Snæfellsjökull National Park you will get to roam around the small village of Arnarstapi which has a rich trading history.
When we go along to Hellnar, we get the chance to look out upon the dazzling and dramatic landscape. If you fancy it, you can enjoy some lunch in the quaint little café which faces a cold water spring.
Visit the vast 8,000-year-old cave Vatnshellir cave and trek along the path of the lava flow about 200 metres into the cave taking you 35 metres underground where you’ll see a collection of curious colours and lava formations. From the dark underworld of Vatnshellir, the tour takes you along to Djúpalónssandur; a tranquil and serene black-pebbled beach that gives superb views out across the ocean. There are a whole host of myths and legends that you are bound to hear about this beautiful beach.
With its unusual yet enticing shape; this mountain is not just the run-of-the-mill. Kirkjufell has a peculiar form which makes it a populous choice for photos.

Nothing compares to revitalizing body and soul than by bathing in the geothermal bath at Laugarvatn Fontana on a beautiful summer evening. Additionally you also have the possibility to enter Gufan, a steam bath built over a natural hot spring where you can easily experience the boiling natural hot spring underneath. The more adventurous ones take a dip in the lake itself.
En route back to Reykjavík we make a detour through the dusky southern countryside. Experience a different summer evening in Iceland! Afterward, we get to fill up our energy with a delicatessen from the local style dinner buffet before going on a northern lights hunt in route back to Reykjavik.
