The Morro da Urca (227m) and the Sugar loaf (396m) are part of the tourist complex from the sugarloaf, currently recognized as natural monument by unesco. The protected area lies on the banks of Guanabara bay and is one of the main postcards of Rio de Janeiro. The most authentic way to know the site is climb the Morro da Urca track and then ride the most famous cable car in the world.
The trail of Urca begins in track Claudio Coutinho, paved road to the cove shores of the red beach. The guide will lead the group along the trail to reach a plateau where you can admire a beautiful view of Guanabara bay and the center of Rio de Janeiro. During the tour, it is common to see some monkeys carrying their young. We followed in nice trail to the summit of Morro da Urca, where is located the first terminal of the cable car.
It picks up where the second level of the cable car to go to the summit of sugar loaf and from there you can enjoy the stunning scenery from the top of the newest Unesco's natural monument.
The sunset of the Urca hill ridge is one of the most beautiful images of the city, so we give the possibility to do the tour in the afternoon.
