First hour:
We all meet up in front of the Zephyr Hotel in Fisherman’s Wharf. This place is surrounded by great shops, so come early and load up on snacks and coffee (yum).
As you settle into your seat, ask the other guests where they were (or where their parents were!) back in the summer of ’67. The answers may surprise you!
Enter North Beach. This is the awesome spot where the counter-culture revolution began. You’ll also get amazing views of Lombard Street, the cafés of Little Italy, Washington Square Park, Saint Peter & Paul Church, Telegraph Hill, and don’t forget Coit Tower!
First stop: Exclusive entry to the Beat Museum (we’ve covered the entry fee!) You’ll learn how the Beats set the scene for the Summer of Love. Not into poetry? No problem, grab a cappuccino.
Next up: Close-up views of Chinatown and its amazing street life. Sometimes the traffic is crazy, but we know the best ways through it.
Second hour:
We take it nice and slow as we pass Nob Hill, Union Square, and other photo-worthy sights along the way. Other favorites you will see include Grace Cathedral, The Fairmont and Mark Hopkins hotels, and the Pacific Union Club.
See the Transamerica Building (it’s a pyramid), Vaillancourt Fountain, and the historic Financial District. Learn how the wild Barbary Coast paved the way for the culture on burst onto the scene during the Summer of Love.
Cruise along the Embarcadero, pass the Ferry Building, and then go to Fisherman’s Wharf where you’ll see Pier 39. You can see Boudin Bakery, The Cannery, Aquatic Park, and don’t forget to keep your camera close for great shots of Alcatraz Island and cable cars “climbing up to the stars”.
Drive to San Francisco’s front porch: the Marina. Catch a view of the palatial ruins at the Palace of Fine Arts. It’s restored from the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exhibition! Feels like you’re stepping back in time.
Venture into the Presidio that captures both beauty and history—a former military base! It’s also home to one of the city’s only two cemeteries.

First hour:
We all meet up in front of the Zephyr Hotel in Fisherman’s Wharf. This place is surrounded by great shops, so come early and load up on snacks and coffee.
The view of San Francisco’s waterfront from the Crissy Field Overlook will take you breath away. And that’s while you’re heading into the old Presidio military base—which is now a city park.
Prepare yourself. As we venture into the Presidio, a long-time military base, you’ll come upon the most amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Visitors love this stop at Godfrey Battery for its World War I-era fortifications and the shots they get of San Francisco’s most famous landmark.
Second hour:
Enter Golden Gate Park from the coastal side where you’ll see the Bison Paddock, enormous Dutch windmills, and Spreckels Lake.
Now, you get to choose!
Option one: Spend 30 minutes here in the park sampling the M.H. de Young Museum, California Academy of Sciences, Botanical Gardens, Japanese Tea Gardens, and Stow Lake.
Option two: Put some flowers in your hair as we explore Haight-Ashbury—epicenter for the Summer of Love. See the Grateful Dead House, Jimi Hendrix Red House, Buena Vista Park, and Victorian homes that survived the fire of 1906.
Last 30 minutes:
The last leg of the tour passes straight through the storied Castro and Mission districts. See the Mission San Francisco; it was founded in 1776. Then roll by public murals—some old, some still fresh!

Our panoramic night tour starts from Stop 1 on Fishermans™ Wharf at our Tour Center in Anchorage Square every evening and takes you along Lombard St (the 'crookedest street in the world') to our first stop at the Palace of Fine Arts for a photo stop.
From the Palace of Fine Arts we travel along the world famous California Street past Grace Cathedral where you will enjoy spectacular views of the Bay Bridge light show before we cross the Bay Bridge to Treasure Island and make another photo stop for one of the best views of the city, looking back across San Francisco Bay to the heart of downtown.
The tour then returns through Union Square and Chinatown and the hundreds of handing Chinese Lanterns, before heading through North Beach and Little Italy back to Fishermans™ Wharf.

Enjoy our Hotel Pick-up and travel down California Highway 1 along the spectacular California Coast to Santa Cruz. Along the way our tour makes a stop at Pigeon Point Lighthouse State Recreational Area where you will have time to take photos of the historic lighthouse and the California Coast with its sea life, surf and wildlife.
Our tour continues to the Santa Cruz Mountains to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park and Roaring Camp Railroads where you will have 2.5 hours to explore the redwoods like you've never explored them before. These old growth redwoods, well over 1,000 years old are the tallest tree species in the world! You can also purchase lunch on your own at Georgie's Cookhouse, Roaring Camps Food Court. Be sure to walk the Redwood Loop Trail, visit the Nature Center and Gift Shop at Henry Cowell State Park and of course enjoy exploring Roaring Camp and the General Store.
Our tour will continue through the San Lorenzo Valley of Santa Cruz County and back to California Highway 1 where we will stop in the former sea-faring village of Davenport before returning to San Francisco. Your tour will return to San Francisco around 4:45pm
Day Two:
Please make your way to Pier 33 to board the ferry taking you to Alcatraz Island. Alcatraz Island remains one of San Francisco's greatest landmarks and now you can experience its chilling allure for yourself. Packaged with the San Francisco City Tour or Giant Redwoods Tour, Super Sightseeing Alcatraz combos feature an award-winning cellular audio tour and round-trip boat ride to The Rock.
Full day tour, departs San Francisco in the morning and travels down Scenic California Highway 1. Along the way you will see the Pacific Ocean with it's beaches, bluffs, cliffs and coastline. Our first stop will be at the Historic Pigeon Point Lighthouse, now a California State Historic Park where you will have time to explore the coastline up close and tour the lighthouse grounds. Our tour will travel alongside the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and through the NEW California Coastal National Monument with its scenic expanse between Davenport and Santa Cruz that stretches the California Coast along Highway 1 and features rolling hills, redwoods and breathtaking views of Monterey Bay. The California Coastal National Monument starts in Davenport and extends all the way to San Luis Obispo.
Once in Santa Cruz we will be traveling into the old growth redwoods of the San Lorenzo Valley where guests will travel thru an old growth redwood forest aboard Roaring Camp Railroads, a local heritage railroad. Step back in time to the 1880's and enjoy Roaring Camps famous Chuckwagon Barbecue Lunch, included as part of your tour. You will have time to explore the Giant California Redwoods after your train ride at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park.
Our tour will depart the San Lorenzo Valley and we will travel thru the seaside town of Santa Cruz with a stop in Davenport to take one more, up close look at the California Coastline before returning to San Francisco.

Alcatraz, experience the legendary island that has been a Civil War Fort, a military prison and one of the most notorious federal penitentiaries in US history. Your trip to Alcatraz will begin at Pier 33 home of Alcatraz Cruises.
