Climb aboard the Ocean Drive boat and sail out into the Atlantic in search of dolphins. Embarking from Albufeira marina, you'll head west along the coastline to Alfazina's beacon, passing golden beaches and spectacular caves. There'll be a stop on the way for you to dive into the waters of the Atlantic if you wish. At the beacon you'll change course towards deeper waters to seek out the dolphins. Even though it's not guaranteed you'll see dolphins, the knowledgeable crew will give you the best chance of doing so. And in any case, the views across the ocean back to the Algarve coast are breathtaking.
This serves up the top attractions of the western Algarve in one day. First, you'll visit Silves, the Algarve's former Moorish capital. Climb to its sandstone castle to admire the views and see the Crusader tombs in its 13th century Cathedral. After this, it's on, through lovely countryside, to the walled medieval port of Lagos, with time for lunch en route. All mosaic-patterned lanes and whitewashed houses, Lagos is where Portugal's great seafarer, Henry the Navigator, set off on his voyages of discovery in the 15th century. Peep into the Antonine Museum attached to the famous ‘golden' church of Santo Antonio and see the former slave market and statue of Prince Henry. Next, check out the sandstone cliffs and rock formations at Ponta da Piedade before heading for Sagres. Perched on windswept cliffs, it's mainland Europe's south westernmost town. And have your camera ready for Cape St. Vincent, a remote peninsula known as the ‘End of Europe' - it's spectacular.
Climb aboard a 4x4 for an all-terrain tour of the Algarve's countryside. With your 4x4 chauffeured by an experienced driver, you'll zoom off in convoy, bouncing down rural tracks, across rivers and past peaceful fig, orange and eucalyptus groves. You'll make regular stops at off-the-beaten track villages and interesting places en route, where you'll discover more about the region's flora and fauna and traditional culture. There's even a chance to snap up some local handicrafts as mementoes, too. After a break for lunch, you'll head for a small distillery where the locals conjure up their beloved ‘medronho' liqueur. Flavoured with the berries of arbutus trees, this fruity liqueur is still made as it's always been, in big copper stills. You'll probably be invited to try a sip or two of the powerful tipple, too. Then it's time to trundle back through the hills on your way home. A great outdoor adventure.
Enjoy life on the ocean wave? Then this full day catamaran cruise is for you. Everything kicks off when you board our gleaming ‘Vital' catamaran at Vilamoura marina, slip your moorings and head out onto the sapphire Atlantic. Your captain and crew will steer a course eastwards, slicing through the waves along the Algarve's rugged shores and beaches. Laze on deck topping up your tan or snap the passing scenery as you drift by golden coves, craggy cliffs and whitewashed fishing villages. On board, you'll be served a barbecue lunch and get the chance to dive into the ocean for a swim or snorkel. Then, sea conditions permitting, join a dinghy trip around some beautiful sea caves or stay on the boat and soak up some more rays. Finally, you'll sail back to port with the afternoon sea breezes ruffling your hair. A blow-the-cobwebs-away kind of day.

Put on your explorer's hat to chart the story of Spain's greatest globetrotter, Christopher Columbus. The 15th century navigator sailed for the Americas from Andalucia and recruited his crewmen from the port of Huelva. And that's where you'll go first, for a close-up look at its statue of Columbus. Standing on the waterside, this huge stone figure stares far out to sea. Snap some photos before continuing on to Rabida. This Moorish-style monastery was where Columbus stayed in 1491 while he waited for funding for his first voyage. Admire its church, cloisters and murals depicting scenes from his life. Finally, it's on to the Harbour of Caravels. Set on the banks of the River Tinto, this outdoor exhibition boasts life-size replicas of three of Columbus' ships - the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria. Climb on board to look around these impressive models and then peek into the museum to see some of the explorer's writings and books.
This trip is all about landscapes. You’ll start in Porches, a traditional town characterised by whitewashed walls and terracotta rooftops. The terracotta isn’t here by accident. The town’s bread and butter is its pottery industry. You’ll drop in on a pottery workshop while you’re here. Moving on, you’ll make a photo stop at Benagil, where the coastal cliffs look like honeycomb and the beach is the colour of syrup. Next, you’ll take another picture break at Algar Seco, where the rock formations look like sponge or out-of-the-water coral. The next stop will be Ferragudo, the rising star of the area. Mooch into the cobbled village square and you’ll find a cluster of quaint cafes where you can get a coffee and a pastry. The last stop of the day will be a winery. The Algarve has been producing wine since 2,000 BC, so it knows the ropes. You’ll get to judge this for yourself during a tasting session.
We invite you to join us aboard the “Ophelia” for an unforgettable experience! During this full day cruise you can savour the stunning views offered by one of Europe’s most impressive coastlines. In the mean time the crew prepares a delicious BBQ on the beach (bread, salad, mixed grill, red or white wine, water, orange squash) .Travelling back we pass some of the beautiful, secluded cove beaches around Carvoeiro. For wonderful holiday memories, don’t miss this day!
