La siguiente escala nos llevará a Ponta do Escalvado y Mosteiros, una zona conocida por su hermosa costa salpicada de extravagantes rocas de lava de varios colores que contrastan con el brillante azul del mar. Si haces la excursión un miércoles, tendrás la ventaja adicional de visitar el antiguo faro de Ginetes (no incluido los demás días de la semana). En caso contrario, pondrás rumbo directamente a Ferraria, donde podrás darte un merecido baño en una piscina natural, disfrutando de la calidez de sus aguas marinas.

Saliendo de Ponta Delgada nos dirigiremos directamente al los invernaderos de piñas de Fajã de Baixo’s. Un segundo mirador en Vista do Rei ofrece unas vistas perfectas del Lago Azul y del Lago Verde, ambos en el interior del cráter del volcán extinto Sete Cidades. We head off the beaten path to take you to places no ordinary car can go. Drive through rushing streams and over undulating green valleys such as Monte Escuro, and find hidden waterfalls that are a thing of pure beauty. Unspoiled crater lakes such as São Bras will be revealed before your eyes and the volcanic origin of São Miguel will be laid bare at Caldeiras da Ribeira Grande. Admire the striking architectonic contrast of black lava stone against white walls in both Vila Franca and Ribeira Grande, and round-off the experience with a relaxing Azorean wine and cheese tasting.

To reach the westernmost part of the island we traverse some of the island’s most beautiful hidden gems. Voyage with us in 4x4 vehicles to wind, grind and twist our way along dirt paths in search of the mystical Azores beauty.
Reaching the incredible Sete Cidades, a gigantic crater, we drive along the north rim over dirt roads hunting for the best photo spots. Never losing sight of the astonishingly colourful lake below us, the largest on the island, the 4x4 vehicles let us get as close as possible to this natural marvel. We visit Santo António for breathtaking views of the north coast as well as Capelas with its peculiar volcanic formations. After an exhilarating ride, we round off the tour with a cheese and wine tasting and, if the tide and weather conditions permit, the unique chance to bathe in warm sea water.
On the western part of the island you will find some of the most interesting sights of the island. Get to know them passing by several off the beaten track roads. Some are used by the local farmers and take you to places only reachable in 4x4. Discover Sete Cidades and the beautiful view over the famous twin lakes. Visit Ponta do Escalvado and Mosteiros, with its beautiful coastline, shaped with lava rocks that contrast with the blue sea. On the way to Ferraria we visit the old lighthouse in Ginetes (only possible on Wednesdays). Then we are ready to head to Ferraria and experience a relaxing swim in hot sea water natural swimming pool.

This golf course is located in the midst of a powerful volcanic landscape with luxuriant tropical vegetation. The first nine holes of the course were laid out by MacKenzie Ross in 1936, and represent the first golf course on the island. The holes meander through a landscape of spectacular natural beauty. Brilliantly extended in 1992 by golf course architects Bob Cameron and Chris Powell, the course now boasts 18 magnificent golf holes and warm British style clubhouse. Furnas Golf Course is situated in São Miguel Islands, set above Furnas Valley and close to the crater furnas lake, with it's famous hot springs and Terra Nostra Gardens. It's 25 minutes from Ponta Delgada, 15 minutes from Caloura, Água d'Alto.

After lunch in Furnas, we travel to Quinta da Terça in Livramento. Using secondary roads flanked by old dry stone walls, on horseback we amble towards “Mata Santa”. Revel in the variety of flora on show, and pass by the resting place of the patron saint of animals. This is a tour for those who want to experience the Azores, not just see it.

Start the day with a cycle ride along the volcanic system of Sete Cidadades, whose Green and Blue lakes sparkle in a volcanic crater. Legend has it the lakes were created from the tears of forbidden love between a shepherd and a princess, and our route takes us 15km around the area, mainly through flat and slight hilly landscapes.
After lunch we travel to Ferraria, a unique geological formation on the west coast. Here we find an equipped climbing wall, with varying routes for different levels. After such an active day of discovery, make the most of nature’s healer and swim in the natural pool heated by thermal springs. Used since the 15th century for their therapeutic properties, these waters will rejuvenate and revitalise ready for another day in the Azores.
A full day experience at sea to discover the beauty of the sea landscape and fauna. Whale watching in the morning with stop in Vila Franca for lunch. Trip to Ilhéu de Vila Franca do Campo Natural Reserve on a typical boat. Once in the islet there is a guided tour and a chance for a swim and snorkeling in the natural swimming pool. The return to Ponta Delgada will be by boat or road transportation according to the weather conditions in the afternoon.
