Experience the famous site of Olympia, dedicated to Zeus and birthplace of the Olympic Games. It's spread about the green wooded feet of the Kronion Hill, where the Alpheios and Cladeos rivers meet. You'll walk around the site with your guide who'll tell you all about ancient Greece and the games. Then you'll visit the archaeological museum which houses an impressive collection of artefacts. After some free time you'll head back to your resort.
For sheer grandeur, few places on Earth can rival Delphi. It's a spectacular double-act of millenia-old ruins and breathtaking natural scenery. It was once one of the world's most important religious centres - pilgrims journeyed here to consult the oracle Pythia. Even now an aura of mystery surrounds Delphi. You'll visit the ancient Sanctuary of Apollo where the celebrated oracle dwelt. Her ambiguous prophecies were known all over the ancient world. You'll pass by the Castalian spring, where the pilgrims washed before consulting the oracle. And you'll also see the Temple of Apollo, the Treasury of Athenians, the Sacred Way and the theatre. In the Delphi Museum, the treasures on display include the Omphalos, which marked the centre of the world, and the magnificent bronze Charioteer, one of the finest surviving 5th-century BC pieces. There will also be time for you to buy a traditional Greek lunch in a nearby village.
Zante, with its long beaches and idyllic bays, is one of the loveliest island in the Ionian Sea. Its pine trees, vineyards and Italian architecture are even said to be reminiscent of Tuscany. After a taking a ferry to Zante, you'll go on a coach trip through the island's olive groves and hills. The first stop is at Skinari, where you can look out across the sea to Kefalonia and mainland Greece. There's an optional boat trip out to the famous Blue Caves here too, for an extra charge. Anafonitria village is next, with its half-ruined 14th-century monastery where the patron of the island, Saint Dionysios, spent part of his life. Your day ends in Zante Town. You'll have about an hour of free time here before boarding the ferry for the return to Kyllini.
Upon arrival to Athens enjoy a panoramic tour of the city, pass by the Monument of the Unknown Soldier; catch a glimpse of the Evzoni Guards in their national uniforms. Then take pleasure in a visit of the breath taking Acropolis, the Ancient temple that boasts traces of buildings from various periods dating back to the Mycenaean era of the second millennium BC.
The principal buildings are the Propylaia, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechteion and the Parthenon, which belongs to the 5th century BC - the age of the glorious Pericles. Enjoy some free at the area of Plaka and then meet with your coach and guide at a pre-arranged time. Start your journey back passing by the University, the National Academy, the Library, impressive buildings constructed during the neoclassical period.
Old Corinth and the dream of the Roman emperor Nero... the canal of Corinth. Explore the excavations of ancient Corinth with one of the oldest temples of the country; visit the archeological site and the museum (optional). Embark on a boat and cross the Corinth canal, a unique experience for adults and young passengers as well. From the old days, Emperor Nero recognized how important the building of a canal between the mainland and the Peloponnese was. Joy & fun in the farm! We will arrive at the farm were we will be shown all the farm animals: chickens and goats, lambs and gooses, dogs and cats, and friendly ponies to pet and feed and of course take pictures!
Then it’s cooking time! Greek salad and tzatziki are waiting for us to make them, the farm people will show us all the secrets, fun cooking is in progress! By the end of the tour our new farm friends will teach us to dance traditional Greek dances!
