Opera Garnier

Take a magical detour to the Palais Garnier and fall under the spell of the enchanting story, 'The secret scent of the Opera'.

Cécile Saglia, a former member of the corps de ballet who became an usherette following a tragic fall from the 13th step of the Grand Staircase, will tell you the legendary story of Selma Dagelsson, another famous dancer from the 1930s.

Thanks to the resolve of her grandson, Alvar, we have recover this story untouched of whose Cecile has chosen to talk to us behind closed door, far from Parisian crowds. It takes place in the Opera Garnier, deserted after closing time, with only the charms and spells of this temple, with its red-velvet curtains and unique scents, to guide you.

So what was the story of Selma Dagelsson? It would take an awful lot of ink to write it all down, so why not enjoy this captivating tale by Cécile, the voice and soul of the story, who teaches us how music and fragrances complement each other with their specific notes and tailored composition.

A timeless visit into the private life of the Opera Garnier.

Avenue Rockefeller, 1

At the end of the 17th century, Jules Hardouin-Mansart built the Royal Stables at Versailles. It was home to the king’s horses, as well as the horsemen, grooms, pages and so on. Two hundred years on, the Grande Ecurie houses the Equestrian Arts Academy, directed by Bartabas.

Over the course of your visit, discover the stables with its 40 horses, including the famous Lusitanians, a favourite of Louis XIV. Wander through the schools and admire the magnificent, wooden, Italian-style arena, where you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the riders in training. You will also learn about the history of the “Haute Ecole”, whose primary ambition is to provide top-level training combining equestrian dressage with other artistic disciplines.
