We will continue our journey by visiting The Metropolitan Cathedral, Roznovanu Palace (the building which houses the City Hall), The Catholic Cathedral, The Three Hierarchics Monastery, one of the most fabulous religious constructions in Romania because of its unique exterior architecture, an 17th century building.

Capital of Romanian United Principalities two times between 1859-1862 and 1916-1918, at this moment Iasi is considered Romania’s Cultural Capital. Part of Moldavia, Bucovina became region administrated by Austro-Hungarian Empire between 1775 until 1918 following to Russian Austrian conflicts. It offers picturesque landscapes with low mountains covered by forest and rivers valleys hiding peaceful monasteries some of them founded half of millennium ago.

First stop is Voronet Monastery, known as The Sistine Chapel of Eastern Europe due its exterior blue frescoes showing “The Last Judgment”. The next leg will take us to Agapia Monastery, a famous nouns monastery, dated 17th century painted by one of the best known Romanian painters, Nicolae Grigorescu.

The last stop will be at Neamt Fortress, dated late 14th century, part of the former Moldavian defense system once. Along the time, the citadel was the main guardian on Moldova and Siret valleys but also on the gateway to Transylvania, becoming one of the major Fortress of Moldova, because of the many works of strengthening during the time of Stephen the Great who leaded Moldavia almost for his entire life dedicated to a permanent fight against the Ottoman Empire. You will meet with your guide and enjoy a day trip in the Moldavian capital, Chisinau. On the way, you will find out about the history of two of Moldova’s most beautiful monasteries. Our first stop will be at Hancu Monastery, one of the most visited historical monuments and one of the leading churches of Moldova.

The convent is surrounded by many underground springs with holy water that attract people from all around the world. Our next visit will be at one of the oldest and most beautiful monuments in Moldova, Capriana Monastery. For a long time the monastery was the residence of the Metropolitan of Moldova and it was patronized by many Rulers of Moldova including Stefan the Great.

Chisinau was first documented in 1420, but most of it was levelled in WWII and by a tragic earthquake that struck in 1940. They started rebuilding the city in 1950 in Soviet style, and both the center and outskirts are dominated by utilitarian high-rise buildings. On our tour we will discover Chisinau’s main attractions: their own Arc de Triomphe, the 1841 Holy Gates at the center of the city and we will stroll through one of the city’s parks and learn about Prince Stefan, the noble symbol of Moldova's medieval past.

We will stop at Russia's national poet Alexander Pushkin tiny cottage, where he lived for 3 years during his exile. The interior is filled with original furnishings and personal items, including a portrait of his beloved Byron. Next on our itinerary is Cricova Winery, situated at a depth of 50-80 meters, representing a real underground city. The Moldavian cellars where Vladmir Putin keeps his wine are so big you need to drive through them. You will also find Herman Goering's private collection, taken by the Red Army from Berlin in 1945. Considered to be the pearl of Moldovan winemaking, Cricova is the founder of production of high-quality elite wines. The influence of Ancient Greece and the Roman period is reflected in the reliefs you will discover inside the winery.

In this unique place you will have to opportunity to discover the steps to wine tasting and try a selection of the great range of wines. Afterwards, you will be transferred back to Iasi. You will enjoy a few pleasant hours in one of the largest cities in Romania. You will enter the city’s bohemian atmosphere present, mostly, in the old part of the town and you will also witness the animated occidental lifestyle.

The tour starts at one of the most impressive buildings of the city, the Palace of Culture, where you can observe its flamboyant neogothic style and admire the beautiful garden behind the Palace. Next, the tour guide will take you to a walk along the main historical street of the city: Stefan cel Mare, where you’ll visit and find out information about the National Theatre Vasile Alecsandri. The building is a true architectonic jewel with a one of the most amazing theatre halls in the world, beautifully decorated with an iron curtain painted by Al. Next we will visit two of the most imposing religious symbols of Iasi: Three Hierarchs Church and the Metropolitan Cathedral. We will continue with a visit to the Technical University “Gheorghe Asachi” Library, one of the most majestic libraries in the world. According to Bored Panda this library is considered to be amongst libraries like New York Public Library, The City Library from Stuttgart, Bibliothèque Nationale De France, Biblioteca Real Gabinete Portugues De Leitura from Rio de Janeiro.

Next, you’ll be introduced in the most important place of the city history, the Union Square, where the Romanian Union in 1859 was first celebrated. Now, you have 1 hour and 30 minutes free time for lunch that you may serve at a restaurant recommended by us (Bolta Rece), or at the restaurant of your own choice. In the second part of the tour you will admire a beautiful view over the whole city from the tower of the Golia Monastery. Copou Hill, with its University (first in Romania) and Botanical Garden will complete your day in the cultural capital of Moldavia.

The tour will end with a marvelous view over the city from Cetatuia hill where we will also visit the monastery with the same name surrounded by fortifications with towers on the corners.
