Información

You will enjoy a few pleasant hours in one of the largest cities in Romania. You will enter the city’s bohemian atmosphere present, mostly, in the old part of the town and you will also witness the animated occidental lifestyle.

The tour starts at one of the most impressive buildings of the city, the Palace of Culture, where you can observe its flamboyant neogothic style and admire the beautiful garden behind the Palace. Next, the tour guide will take you to a walk along the main historical street of the city: Stefan cel Mare, where you’ll visit and find out information about the National Theatre Vasile Alecsandri. The building is a true architectonic jewel with a one of the most amazing theatre halls in the world, beautifully decorated with an iron curtain painted by Al. Goltz, rococo crystal Venice chandelier with 109 bulbs and the ceiling depicts Edenic parables representing angles and nymphs.

Next we will visit two of the most imposing religious symbols of Iasi: Three Hierarchs Church and the Metropolitan Cathedral. We will continue with a visit to the Technical University “Gheorghe Asachi” Library, one of the most majestic libraries in the world. According to Bored Panda this library is considered to be amongst libraries like New York Public Library, The City Library from Stuttgart, Bibliothèque Nationale De France, Biblioteca Real Gabinete Portugues De Leitura from Rio de Janeiro.

Next, you’ll be introduced in the most important place of the city history, the Union Square, where the Romanian Union in 1859 was first celebrated. Now, you have 1 hour and 30 minutes free time for lunch that you may serve at a restaurant recommended by us (Bolta Rece), or at the restaurant of your own choice. In the second part of the tour you will admire a beautiful view over the whole city from the tower of the Golia Monastery. Copou Hill, with its University (first in Romania) and Botanical Garden will complete your day in the cultural capital of Moldavia.

The tour will end with a marvelous view over the city from Cetatuia hill where we will also visit the monastery with the same name surrounded by fortifications with towers on the corners.
