Then you visit Çavusin village and its cave church. It is the oldest one in the area dating back to the 5th century. Çavusin church has a single nave plan with tree apses, which are covered with pointed barrel vaults. The frescos depict biblical sceens.
The next stop is in Pasabag where you can see mushroom-like fairy-chimneys with multiple caps and stems situated in the middle of a vineyard. Then walk through Pasabaglar, used to be known as Valley of Monks.
After Çavusin you go to Avanos, a small town known for its ceramics. Avanos (the former names are Zu-Vinessa or Venessa), situated by the river of Kizilirmak or Halys River from ancient times as Herodes called it. There you have lunch and also visit a ceramics workshop where you can see how pottery is made and decorated.
Avanos as known Venessa or Evranos. In which many ateliers for producing ceramics continues in the disrict from the Hitit period. Avanos which has settled on both edges of the Red River (Kizilirmak) is one of the tourism center in the region. The Kizilirmak (red) river separates. It is by this river that the red pottery clay is found from which Avanos derives it’s main livelihood and it’s foremost claim to fame. You will be happy to taste unforgatable tastes in the fascinating atmosphere of Cappadocia.
After Lunch in Avanos, you will be able to see Devrent Valley, and also Zelve Valley, you most probably wont want to stop taking pictures of these areas. The next stop is in Ürgüp. The Üzümlü Church, Cambazli Church and Sarica Church in Ortahisar which was one of the villages of Ürgüp are the oldest rock churches from the region. CAPPADOCIA Love Valley is a real place just outside of the city GÖREME in Turkey ‘s Cappadocia region. Standing erect between the Goreme open air museum and the town of Goreme, one finds this valley of the Super-sized Slongs. If you ‘ve got a good sense of humor and some hiking boots, you too can rummage through the underpants of this Turkish countryside. The site is free (a rarity in Turkey) and is definitely worth a peak. We all know that blue sky make for the most optimal photo, take it in stride if you have a hard gray day and stiff winds.
If you want to see a unique geological site, then this is certainly it no run of the mill vague shapes here. These structures mean business. And they weren’t made by Mother Nature having a funny five minutes these strange pinnacles are in fact eroded volcanic ash. Destination 1:Ozkonak Underground city
Ozkonak town of Nevsehir city which 14 km northeast of Avanos is located on the northern slopes of the Idis Mountain, there are supernormal underground structure of Ozkonak underground city. There is only a single main passage, and the whole city is built along it by cut volcanic granite. Ozkonak underground city has long, narrow connections, about 5cm in diameter, connect the different levels and naighbouring chambers. They were used for communication between the levels and for ventilation. There are ten rooms, four big salloon, eight water well, four tombs, ventilation system, winery and closeable doors via circle stone like millstone for security reason. Additionally there are so many ambushes in the long narrow tunnels for to mislead enemy in the Ozkonak underground city.
Destination 2:Devrent Valley
Devrent Valley, which is also known as Imaginary Valley and also as Pink Valley does not have cave churches like the other valleys of Cappadocia. There are no Roman castles or Roman tombs in Devrent Valley, either. Actually it was never inhabited. So what makes it so famous? The lunar landscape!
Destination 3:Avanos (Red river)
Avanos Red River (Kizilirmak), The town of Avanos is set on the banks of the Kizilirmak, the Red River. The town is about 8 kilometers (5 miles) from Goreme. Avanos has a lively center with all the usual amenities including a modern, tourist-oriented hamam (Turkish Bath).
Destination 4:Rose and Red Valley
Rose Valley is a large valley located between Goreme and Cavusin villages, and it is divided into many smaller valleys: Gulludere, Kizilcukur, Meskendir and Zindanonu valleys. This beautiful valley gets its name from the rose-colored rock that varies in hue and intensity depending on time of day, season and weather conditions. During the hike we will visit several cave churches, cave houses and cave tunnels. Rose Valley has paths for easy, medium and difficult levels. The most common path in the valley takes around 2 hours (3.5 km).
Destination 5:Uchisar and Pigeon Valley
Uchisar Castle, in Uchisar is situated at the highest point in Cappadocia, on the Nevsehir-Goreme road, just 5 km from Goreme. The top of the Uchisar Castle, provides a magnificent panorama of the surrounding area with Mount Erciyes in the distance.
You can also walk through the Pigeon Valley which offers a fascinating landscape. A hike from Goreme to Uchisar through Pigeon Valley takes about two hours.
Pasabag in Cappadocia is located on the road to Zelve, coming from Goreme or Avanos. Highly remarkable earth pillars can be seen here, in the middle of a vineyard, hence the name of the place which means: the Pasha's vineyard. Pasha means "General", the military rank, in Turkish and it is a very common nick name. This site is also called Monks Valley. Currently, there is a vineyard and a number of tuff cones standing right next to the road.
Pasabag valley contains some of the most striking fairy chimneys in Cappadocia with twin and even triple rock caps. This style is unique even for Cappadocia and these fairy chimneys are named mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys.
The Zelve Open-Air Museum, which once housed one of the largest communities in the region is an amazing cave town, honeycombed with dwellings, religious and secular chambers. Zelve is situated about 10 km out from Goreme on the Avanos road. Here, the Christians and Muslims lived together in perfect harmony, until 1924.
The cave mosque with the minaret,Now old Zelve is a ghost town and the erosion still continues. The three valleys in the Zelve open air museum offer a heaven for the rock climbers. It takes at least two hours for a good trekker to walk through these valleys, which also house the oldest examples of Cappadocian architecture and religious paintings.

Ortahisar means "middle castle," and as its name implies, it is central among the Cappadocian towns of Goreme, Urgup, Uchisar and Nevsehir, and only a few kilometers from the Goreme Open Air Museum. These doors are the best example of the cool-air storages in Cappadocia. In these natural air-conditioned rooms, lemons and oranges from the Mediterranean region, apples from Nigde, local potatoes, quinces and onions are stored. Green lemons slowly turn yellow in these store-rooms.
Hallacdere Monastery, Ortahisar, Cappadocia. you follow the street close to the main fortress, you can visit Ali Reis Church with Christ on the main dome. If you keep on the main street down south you can see the Balkan Deresi up to the Balkan Churches. Some churches in the vicinity of Ortahisar have been opened recently. Keep right for 2 km when leaving Urgup towards Mustafapasa (Sinasos), after 1 km you will see the yellow signs for the Sarica Church and the Kepez Church. Another kilometer will take you to Pancarlik Church in Pancarlik Valley, which has very fine frescoes on its ceiling.

Our tour is a full-day tour. It starts with Pancarlik Church which is far from the crowd and has beautiful frescoes. Later on, we drive to Mustafapasa which is famous for its beautiful architecture. Mustafapasa,also known as Sinasos, was one of the largest Greek towns in Cappadocia until 1924. After having lunch, we continue on to Ortahisar. Firstly, we visit Hallaç Dere Monastery. It is known as Hospital Monastery by locals because it was used as a hospital by christians. And we end up our tour at panoramic view point where you can take nice photos in Ortahisar.
Firstly we visit the famous “Devrent Valley” to picture the strange formations some of which are looking very like a camel, Virgin and the Child and Napoleon. A short drive from here brings us to the “Pasabagi” (or Monk`s Valley) where we view the pillar-like fairy chimneys. After lunch at a local restaurant in “Avanos” Town on the banks of Kizilirmak (Red River), we see some of world famous Turkish Handicrafts being made here.
In the afternoon visit the “Goreme Open Air Museum” which is a UNESCO recognized medieval monastic complex of painted cave churches and dwellings, carved out of the tufa rock by the Christian monks. We continue on to ""Uchisar Rock Castle"" and upon climbing up we view the fairy-tale like Goreme Town from a bird eye’s view.
We finalize this dream-like day with a visit to the “Underground City of Kaymakli”, which is one of the best preserved and deep subterranean towns of the region. After the tour transfer back to the hotel.

Destination 3: Avanos is known for the pottery , a craft dating back to the hittite period. The red clay which is worked by local craftsmen comes from the residue in the Kizilirmak river ( Red River ) . The Kizilirmak , which divides Avanos into two, is Anatolia’s longest river.
Destination 4: Göreme Open air Museum is the biggest monastery where thisi religious education was started . You will visit the churces , chapels, and monasteries carved into the fairy chimney from the 10th to the 13th centuries with frescos painted on the walls. In the 4th century three important men created a new unity here they are the Great St.Basil , bishop of Kayseri , his brother St Gregory of Nyssa and St.George of Nazianus.

The last stop is at Kaymakli Underground City; there are more than 100 Underground cities in Cappadocia, once used by the local people to hide from marauding armies. In these days only 4 of them are open to the public. We visit one of them to experience life thousands years ago; the number of storage rooms in such a small area supports the idea that a great number of people resided here. Archeologists think that this could have been up to 3500 people.
