The Turkish bath, also known as hamam or hammam, is one of the ancient world’s most widely exported customs. The tradition of the Turkish bath was born generations ago, adopted from Romans and Byzantines and then perfected by the Selcuk and Ottoman Turks and has continued even until today.
We offer the long-established hamam experience in a luxurious modern hamam carved out of a cave – allowing our guests the best of both worlds; old-world tradition in a modern, luxury setting. To help you relax after your daily adventures in Cappadocia, our professional masseurs offer a variety of services in addition to the hamam ritual. Our luxury hamam also features a sauna.
What happens in a Hamam?” Well, the ritual is simple. When you arrive to hamam , you will find yourself in the warmth. A room filled with the sound of splashing water, the scent of soap, and wafting steam through which daily concerns and worries cannot penetrate. In the gentle moist heat your body relaxes, and your nerves are soothed. You sit down at one of the marble wash basins which line the walls, and adjusting the temperature of the water to a delicious warmth, dip the copper bathing bowl into the basin and tip the water over your head and body. Waves of relaxation seem to pour right through you as the water envelops your body.
Laying on the warm stone in the center of the room, your attendant (tellak for men and natir for women) will pour hot water on you and begin to scrub every square inch of your body. Basically, every millimeter of dead and dirty skin is scrubbed off, even the skin between your fingers and toes.
Afterwards you are lathered with liquid soap and shampoo and given the choice of massage options . After the massage, the attendant will wash you from head to toe again as if you are a small child. One last shower and then it is time to leave the Sicaklik. Then you are given fresh towels and again brought to Sogukluk (the cool room) to rest, dry off and marvel at your glowing, soft as a baby’s skin.
There are countless trekking racecourses in Cappadocia. We can propose you different choices due to your request.Tourist groups generally prefer Cappadocia Valleys for trekking. Some of the valleys have romantic names (Love Valley) which will attract the tourists. Love Valley is so popular that several valleys are being mentioned like this. Here we prefer to use the geopraphical names of the valleys.
Actually most of the valleys are named by the river passing through. There are about over 15 classic and well known trekking racecourses in Cappadocia. We would like to introduce them and we can help you to come and visit here. On this tour, we offer you a fantasy of nature and almost like another planet and to which no description accurately do justice. One needs to feel its magical environment, its colours and its luminosity to appreciate another dimension
Rose Valley is a large valley located between Goreme and Cavusin villages, and it is divided into many smaller valleys: Gulludere, Kizilcukur, Meskendir and Zindanonu valleys. This beautiful valley gets its name from the rose-colored rock that varies in hue and intensity depending on time of day, season and weather conditions. During the hike we will visit several cave churches, cave houses and cave tunnels. Rose Valley has paths for easy, medium and difficult levels. The most common path in the valley takes around 2 hours (3.5 km). After a visit to Rose Valley
In an extraordinary meeting of nature's artistic splendor and humankind's resourcefulness, Cappadocia is one of those rare places that must be experienced at least once in a lifetime. With soaring rock formations, uniquely-rippled landscapes, splendid walking trails, mysterious underground cities and rock-cut churches, Cappadocia is the must-see destination in Turkey.
In the days before tourism local people called the strange rock cones that surrounded them kales, or 'castles'. Nowadays these amazing structures are usually called peribacalari, or 'fairy chimneys'. They come in an extraordinary range of shapes and sizes but most are tall and phallic-shaped with a cap of harder stone that protects the softer rock underneath from erosion. Eventually these caps fall off, whereupon the wind and rain start to whittle away the cone until eventually it, too, collapses.
Pasabag in Cappadocia is located on the road to Zelve, coming from Goreme or Avanos. Highly remarkable earth pillars can be seen here, in the middle of a vineyard, hence the name of the place which means: the Pacha's vineyard. Pacha means ''General'', the military rank, in Turkish and it is a very common nick name. This site is also called Monks Valley. The name was derived from some cones carved in tuff stones which stand apart. Currently, there is a vineyard and a number of tuff cones standing right next to the road.
Uchisar is situated at the highest point in Cappadocia, on the Nevsehir-Goreme road, just 5 km from Goreme. The top of the Uchisar Castle, provides a magnificent panorama of the surrounding area with Mount Erciyes in the distance.
Many rooms hollowed out into the rock are connected to each other with stairs, tunnels and passages. At the entrances of the rooms, there are millstone doors, just like the ones in the underground settlements, used to control access to these places. Due to the erosion in places of this multi-leveled castle, it is unfortunately not possible to reach all the rooms. Most of the rooms, located on the north side of the castle are in use as pigeon houses (dovecuts) today. Farmers used these cave pigeon houses to collect the droppings of pigeons which is an excellent natural fertilizer for the orchards and vineyards.
Start this fantastic tour visiting the Pigeon Valley that has become quite popular with hikers. It is known by many names (Valley of the Pigeon Lofts, Dovecote Valley, and Pigeon Valley) but they all refer to the thousands of pigeon houses that have been carved into the soft tufa since ancient times. You can admire the multi-coloured rock formations of the famous Pigeon Valley, and Uchisar’s picturesque fairy chimneys. Following this the tour moves on to a panoramic view of Goreme. This valley was created from volcanic rocks which erosion over time has helped to create unique chimney-shaped rocks; here there is an ideal photo opportunity with views over Sword, Love and Red Valleys.
Next the tour visits Goreme Open Air Museum where you can see several churches built into caves by Christians between the 10th and 13th centuries with a chance to visit several different churches and chapels including Sakli Church, Kilislar and St Basil Churches. Moving on to Cavusin village, here there is a cave church considered one of the oldest ones in the area dating back to the 5th century AD. The next stop is in Pasabag where you can see mushroom-like fairy-chimneys with multiple caps and stems situated in the middle of a vineyard and then enjoy a walk through Pasabaglar, once known as the Valley of Monks.
After Cavusin we go to Avanos, a small town known for its ceramics and the Red River which runs through its’ centre and provides the clay used to make these ceramics. Lunch is taken here and we also visit a ceramics workshop to observe the pottery being made and decorated. After lunch we will be able to see more strangely shaped rock chimneys in Devrent and Zelve Valley before completing the tour with a visit to the spectacular Kaymakli Underground City.
Even though the whole city has not been completely opened, and since only 4 floors have been uncovered, it is certain that Kaymakli is one of the largest underground settlements in the region. The houses in the village are constructed around the nearly one hundred tunnels of the underground city. These are still used today as storage areas, stables, and cellars; of the four floors open to tourists, each space is organised around ventilation shafts. The number of the storage rooms in such a small area supports the idea that a great number of people resided here. Archaeologists think that this could have been up to 3500 people.
Destination 1: Pasabag in Cappadocia is located on the road to Zelve, coming from Goreme or Avanos. The name was derived from some cones carved in tuff stones which stand apart. Currently, there is a vineyard and a number of tuff cones standing right next to the road. Some of these cones split into smaller cones in their upper sections, in which stylites and hermits once hid. Pasabag valley contains some of the most striking fairy chimneys in Cappadocia with twin and even triple rock caps. This style is unique even for Cappadocia and these fairy chimneys are named mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys.
Destination 2: The Zelve Open-Air Museum, which once housed one of the largest communities in the region is an amazing cave town, honeycombed with dwellings, religious and secular chambers. Here, the Christians and Muslims lived together in perfect harmony, until 1924.
Destination 3: Devrent Valley, which is also known as Imaginary Valley and also as Pink Valley does not have cave churches like the other valleys of Cappadocia. There are no Roman castles or Roman tombs in Devrent Valley, either. Actually it was never inhabited. So what makes it so famous? The lunar landscape! The valley also has many animal shaped rocks. It looks like a sculpture zoo made by nature. Some of the most important, or the easiest seen animal shapes are camel, snake, seals, and dolphin.
Destination 4: When entering Ortahisar Panaromic, you will notice doors in the rock surfaces on both sides. These doors are the best example of the cool-air storages in Cappadocia.Ortahisar is famous for its friendly inhabitants, picturesque stone houses, narrow streets and lovely churches as well as the castle-like rock formation after which the town is named.
Destination 5: Göreme Panorama : The valley created from volcanic rocks is famous with the chimney rocks resulting from the erosion made by the natural factors to these rocks and with the historical richness.

It is known by many names (Valley of the Pigeon Lofts, Dovecote Valley, Pigeon Valley) but they all refer to the thousands of pigeon houses that have been carved into the soft tufa since ancient times. Although they can be found throughout Cappadocia, they are especially plentiful in this valley which must have one of the greatest collections of pigeon lofts in the world. They were carved wherever space allowed including abandoned caves and the walls of collapsed churches. They lack the architectural interest of the doocots of Scotland or the elaborate Persian pigeon towers but their sheer numbers are astonishing. In Cappadocia, pigeons have long been a source of food and fertilizer. The advent of chemical fertilizers has reduced the use of pigeon fertilizer. However, some farmers still maintain their lofts because they insist that the reputation of Cappadocian fruits as the sweetest and most succulent in Turkey is entirely due to the pigeons’ droppings. You can admire the multicolored rock formations of the famous Pigeon Valley, and Uchisar’s picturesque fairy chimneys. Take great pictures and enjoy.

It holds about 50 Byzantine churches, chapels, monasteries and hermit caves dating from the 11th to 13th centuries. Good news! You do not have to visit them one by one. Our guide will take you to Saint Daniel's Church and explain you every single detail used in decorations. Then we hike 4 kms on a nice trail until we reach Belisirma. After the lunch, we set off for Selime Monastery, which has the biggest religious building in Cappadocia with a cathedral-size church.
Lastly, we stop at Pigeon Valley, which has hundreds of old pigeon houses cut into the rock in the past. Throughout centuries farmers have used pigeon droppings for fertilizer in their fields. Finally, our guide and driver will drop you off at your hotel with a lot of unforgetable stories and memories.
First, we drive to Göreme Open air Museum, which is a monastic complex composed of churches, refectories, and dwellings, and one of the earliest centers for religious education. There are at least 100 churches and chapels in the museum area dating between A.D. 900 and 1200, each one named (after a prominent attribute) by the local villagers. One of the highlights is Karanlik (Dark) Church, which, because it gets very little light from the outside, has some of the best preserved wall paintings with the brightest colours.
After seeing the best preserved murals of Cappadocia we set off for Love Valley. Locals have proudly dubbed the area “Love Valley”. Love Valley is just one of the many treats in store in Cappadocia, a fascinating corner of it. After picturing these unique pinnacles, Red Valley and Mount Erciyes, we drive to Avanos, a town and district that is noted for its Turkish craft skills. Rug-weaving and pottery-making are important local skills. In this little town you witness how the Cappadocian women have been giving life to loops, unravelling silk cocoons, dyeing the wool using natural plants for generations and men still kicking the ancient Hittite kick-wheel in order to shape the red soil which is obtained from the old banks of the longest river in Turkey, the Red River.
Then we have the lunch at a local family's old house, which has been converted into a restaurant. After having one of the specialities of Cappadocia for lunch, we set off for Ozkonak Underground City in search of traces of Hittites. The city was discovered in 1972 and it differs from others in that, there were holes in ceilings above the doors which enabled the citizens to pour hot oil on any unwelcome visitors.
You will see it’s magnificient Valley Scenery Views of Swords Valley, Love Valley, Red Valley. Take great pictures and share with millions. The formation of fairy chimneys continues, clearly as in Red Valley Mountain and Zelve Mountain.
