The local waters provide the perfect conditions for a dazzling variety of coral beds, tropical fish and aquatic creatures to thrive and grow - making diving here an unmissable experience. And that’s where this dive discovery day comes in. Aimed at beginners, it’s a fantastic introduction to scuba diving that teaches you all the basics and starts you off with a proper dive - all in one day. You’ll head for a professional dive centre where you’ll spend time in the pool and the sea learning the essentials from an experienced instructor. Then, accompanied by your instructor, you’ll take a real undersea dive, getting your first thrilling glimpse of the stunning marine life. A brilliant taste of scuba diving that will get you set for a world of diving adventures in the future.

If you ever fancied trying scuba diving, here’s your chance. It’s a half-day course that lets you dip your toe into diving with experienced instructors from our Sharm El Sheikh dive partners, Ocean College. First, we’ll pick you up from your hotel for an introductory briefing. Then it’s time to practice breathing underwater on a fun training dive in confined, shallow seas very similar to a swimming pool. Once you feel at home with everything, it’s on to a proper shore dive around a shallow reef, so you can view the exotic fish and beautiful corals that make the Red Sea such a diving mecca. There’s no need for nerves either - your instructor will accompany you at all times, talking you through everything and showing you the marine life. And if want more afterwards, why not make the most of your time in Sharm by taking an Ocean College discovery boat dive or a full, four-day PADI diving course?

Ten guided dives around the Red Sea’s best bits - this fantastic dive package from Sharm dive Centre Ocean College gives you five days to wallow in the waters around the Sinai Peninsula. Catch your dive boat on the first day to explore the sandy plateaus and gardens close to Naama Bay - they’re packed with corals, rays and reef fish. And if you think that’s amazing just wait. On each of the next four days, your boat will bounce across the waves to either Ras Mohammed National Park or the Tiran Straits. Then it’s all stations go. Flipper around fish-filled shipwrecks and coral-covered walls. Float over forests of gorgonian fans. And spy on eagle rays, hammerhead sharks, turtles and colossal schools of barracuda and jack. Whichever site you head for - and there’s a huge variety at both Tiran and Ras Mohammed - you’re in for a treat and a half. Pure bliss for certified divers.

Jacques Cousteau called the Red Sea a ‘corridor of marvels’ and this four-day package gives you lots of time to discover its wonders. Available to certified divers only, it’s your ticket to eight guided dives - two on each day - all hosted by our dive partners, Ocean College. On the first, you’ll head by boat to the reefs around Naama Bay. Then on the remaining days, you’ll set sail for the Tiran Straits or Ras Mohammed National Park - two of the world’s premier diving areas. While the Tiran is known for its glorious coral plateaus, Ras Mohammed goes overboard with marine life. Its translucent waters are crammed with fairytale rock formations and vast coral gardens teeming with wrasse, glassfish, jacks and snapper. Keep a lookout for eagle rays, turtles and hammerhead sharks, too. With an instructor showing you all the best sights on each trip, you’re guaranteed the time of your diving life.

Then it’s time to take the plunge. On your third day, you’ll take two dives around a fabulous house reef at Naama Bay. And on your fourth, you’ll board a boat for two dives around the best local sites. Your instructor will be there throughout and introduce you to the delights of the Red Sea. And once you’ve finished, you’re free to dive anywhere in the world for the rest of your life.

Already taken your PADI Open Water theory and confined water training? Then this two-day PADI Referral course is ideal. It lets you do all your theory work and confined water sessions elsewhere before taking your qualifying dives with our dive partners, Ocean College, in the Red Sea. Just bring proof of your training - it needs to have been in the last twelve months - and you’re away. On your first day, you’ll enjoy two shore dives from Naama Bay, swimming around a vibrant house reef. Then on your second day, a boat will whisk you to brilliant local sites for two more dives. Descend into the crystal-clear waters with your instructor and feast your eyes on technicolour coral beds, stunning sponge fields and zillions of reef fish. Once you’re finished, you’ll be eligible to dive anywhere in the world up to 18 metres in depth and with a ‘buddy’ rather than a dive professional.

The Scuba Diver course covers the fundamental diving theory and in-water skills that will permit the successful participant to dive worldwide while accompanied by a PADI professional, to a maximum depth of 12 metres. The course consists of three knowledge development sessions; three confined water training dives and two open water dives, either from the shore or from a boat, conducted to a maximum depth of 12 metres. Following successful completion of the course it is possible to continue your education by upgrading to PADI Open Water Diver at any time.

If you have not dived within the last twelve months then you will be required to complete a Scuba Review conducted from the shore.
