On this trip, you can re-enact the biblical story, by encountering some of the world’s animals before stepping aboard your own, small-scale ark. You’ll start the day in Paphos Zoo, where you’ll have the morning to wander around and meet the 1,200 creatures that live here. You’ll get to see mammals, like tigers, giraffes and monkeys, plus slithering reptiles and a collection of colourful birds, including the parrots that star in their own shows throughout the day. Later on, you’ll take a drive towards Latchi Harbour and stop for a seafront lunch, before boarding a yacht for an afternoon on the Blue Lagoon. The captain will drop anchor so you can take a dip or snorkel in the crystal-clear waters. Alternatively, spend the time sunbathing from the comfort of the boat’s deck.
The whole family can get involved on this day out, which takes place on Paphos’ own pirate ship. Stepping aboard the Jolly Roger, younger adventurers can start the day by getting their faces painted – obligatory eye patches and scars included – while grown-up pirates relax with a cocktail. Once the sails are hoisted, it’s time to cruise along Paphos’ coast. During the day, there’ll be snorkelling stops, a lunch break, and plenty of games and activities. Budding buccaneers can prove themselves to Captain Jack by walking the plank, ducking under the limbo, and wrapping shipmates up like mummies. You can buy grog from the on-board bar, and the Jolly Roger’s crew will finish off the day with a swashbuckling performance.
If sun, sea and sausages sound like your thing, this trip is just for you. From the harbour, you’ll climb aboard the Wave Dancer, which will set sail past Paphos’ rugged coastline en route to Coral Bay. Here, you can dive into the turquoise water for a spot of swimming or snorkelling. If you’d rather stay dry, the ship’s huge deck is lined with sunloungers, so you can bask with a blue-sky backdrop. While the boat is anchored, the crew will treat you to a barbecue lunch. The menu ticks off things like freshly-grilled burgers, sausages and fish. They’ll keep you entertained, too, with live music, acrobatics and magic shows. To top things off, there’s an open bar all day.

It’s set high in the hills west of the Troodos Mountains, and was founded about 900 years ago to house the Elousa icon, reputedly painted by St Luke the Evangelist. The icon is so holy, legend has it that anyone who attempts to gaze at it will be instantly blinded. The monastery is renowned for its colonnaded cloisters, pretty courtyards and rainbow-coloured mosaics. Plus, it’s surrounded by peaceful villages that look just like they did centuries ago. A traditional Cypriot lunch is included in this day out.

You’ll also check out the House of Dionysos, a Roman villa filled with incredible mosaics. Most feature Dionysos, the Greek god of wine. When you’ve had your fill of ruins, you’ll enjoy free time in a nearby harbour. Call in at one of the local cafés for a coffee and watch the sail boats bob up and down in the Mediterranean Sea.
We’ll take you out for a bite to eat during this evening trip. Before dinner, we’ll stop by the picturesque Ayios Neophytos Monastery, tucked away in the tranquil village of Tala. It’s known for its out-of-this-world Byzantine frescoes, which you’ll find in a cave at the back of the site. There’s one more pit-stop en route to the restaurant – the Kathikas Winery. Here, you’ll sip some of the local plonk as the sun sets over the surrounding vineyards. Finally, it’s on to a pretty tavern in the village centre for an all-you-can-eat feast of traditional Cypriot meze.
