If you're looking for a real scuba diving adventure this is it. You'll be diving in the crystal clear cenotes of the yucatan peninsula, just north of the mayan ruins of Tulum. You'll need to hold a minimum of open water certification for this dive of a life time.

The reefs around Cozumel are busier than Piccadilly Circus, with all sorts of colourful creatures zipping through the waters. On this trip, you'll head out across the Mayan Riviera Reef Channel on a customised ferry to drop anchor at some of the area's most famous dive sites. Keep your eyes peeled for sharks, turtles, octopuses and stingrays as you float past the fish-filled corals, canyons and troughs. Sites for the day could include Columbia, Palancar:a national park :and Paradise reefs, and Santa Rosa wall. It's a 2-tank trip, so you'll get the opportunity to dive in 2 separate locations. You'll get lunch and non-alcoholic drinks on the boat, too.

This excursion is ideal for those who have never tried scuba diving before but want to give it a go. Although the lesson won't get you the full diving certification, it will let you complete a scuba dive on the day :so you'll get the chance to experience the rainbow-coloured corals and fantastic sea life off the Mexican coast. After shimmying into a wetsuit, you'll start off in the pool, learning the basics of diving. Then, you'll move out onto the reef to put theory into practice. You'll be able to dive up to 27 feet, so there's a good chance you'll spot things like turtles and barracuda, as well as Technicolor fish.

Cancun is Mexico's party capital, and this night out will give you a great introduction to its explosive clubbing scene. It takes place at Señor Frog's, a well-known bar-come-restaurant that majors in food and fiestas. The dress code for the evening is bright white, in preparation for the main event :a glow-paint fight just after midnight. There's an open bar, so you can enjoy all the cocktails you want. And if you can tear yourself away from the huge dancefloor, try out the waterslide, which weaves across the restaurant and into a warm lagoon right outside.

Xochimilco is an ancient tangle of canals cocooned by juniper tree forests and water lilies. Once upon a time, gondola-like boats known as trajineras sailed these waters, transporting flowers, fruit and vegetables from traditional floating gardens. These days, the trajineras are reserved for lively boat cruises. On this tour, we’ll pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Xoximilco. Once there, you’ll be whisked off on a guided cruise around the canals on one of the brightly-coloured boats. Each one is decorated with motifs from the 32 Mexican states, including patterned flags and hand-carved archways. During the cruise, you’ll have the chance to dig in to a typical Mexican dinner and sample things like tequila and local beer at the open bar. Live local mariachi bands and folk-style jarocho groups provide the soundtrack, giving the whole cruise the feel of a fiesta.

This full-day tour is a million miles from your usual 9 to 5. You’ll swap suit and tie for whistle and wet suit, and find out what it’s like to be a professional dolphin trainer. Most of the day is spent in the water with the dolphins, and you’ll get to take part in exercises the park’s trainers use to train the animals every day. You’ll get to strap on a diving tank, too, and check out the animals’ agile bodies underwater. Your course leader will also be there to talk to you about the breeding of the animals, the kind of training needed to care for them each day, and the scientific research that’s taking place there. Drinks are included in the price, and a buffet lunch is served about halfway through the day.

Families love this tour. It begins with a once-in-a-lifetime experience that sees you swimming with dolphins at Cancun’s dolphinarium. You’ll take to the water in groups of 10 to interact with the animals for about 40 minutes. During this time, you’ll experience a fin shake and a kiss, and get the chance to stroke their rubbery bodies. They’ll show off for you, too, speeding through the water and jumping into the air to perform 360-degree flips. The highlight of the experience, though, is the foot push, when you’ll be propelled into the air by one of the animals.

This trip takes you on a relaxing evening cruise. You’ll spend the night drifting across the Nichupté Lagoon, the body of water in between Cancun’s hotel zone and the mainland. Onboard, you’ll be treated to snacks and an open bar, so you can sip on an ice-cold drink as you float past jungle mangroves. There’ll be music played around your two-deck catamaran, too, giving you the chance to dance under the fading sunlight. And, as the sun dips below the horizon, you’ll get to take in the spectacular, shadowy views of Cancun’s high-rise skyline.
