Throughout our Beijing food tour, your local guide will recommend some local snacks for sampling, and you’ll also have the chance try some specialties from elsewhere in China. You will explore the stories behind tasty treats like spring onion pancakes, Sichuan noodles, donkey meat sandwiches, and mini hotpots. There’s an endless supply of local specialties to sample as we eat our way around the one of the biggest produce markets in the centre of Beijing.
Along the way you’ll meet local culinary masters, like noodle and tofu makers, and join locals for their daily food shopping (practice some Chinese words and phrases from your local guide!). Learn about different vegetables and spices, and maybe even pick up a trick or two about authentic Chinese cooking.
We’ll end our Beijing food tour in a convenient spot: Old Gulou Dajie. From here, it’s easy to head to the Houhai Lake area, or to move on to other districts where you can explore local bars, cafés and restaurants. The night’s young, so head out for a drink or more food — if your stomach has the space, that is.

The Summer Palace – first built in 1750, largely destroyed in the war of 1860 and restored on its original foundations in 1886 – Located about 20 kilometers northwest of the city center, Originally was used as a summer residence for the royal family in Qing Dynasty. The Summer Palace is one of a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design and was listed as one of the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. The natural landscape of hills and open water is combined with artificial features such as pavilions, halls, palaces, temples and bridges to form a harmonious ensemble of outstanding aesthetic value.
You need to spend at least half a day here to enjoy the gardens, buildings, and waterways. You can walk along the path to see an island temple, sit and watch a traditional Chinese performance in the restored theatre or explore the recreated traditional shops by the river.
The Temple of Heaven Park is located in the Chongwen District, Beijing. Originally, this was the place where emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911) held the Heaven Worship Ceremony. It is China's largest and most representative existing masterpiece among China’s ancient sacrificial buildings. First built in 1420, the 18th year of the reign of Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), it was enlarged and rebuilt during the reigns of the Ming emperor Jiajing and the Qing emperor Qianlong. In 1988, it was opened to the public as a park, showing ancient philosophy, history and religion. Its grand architectural style and profound cultural connotation give an insight into the practices of the ancient Eastern civilization.
The Temple is divided by two encircling walls into an inner part and outer part. The main buildings lie at the south and north ends of the middle axis of the inner part. The most magnificent buildings are the Circular Mound Altar (Huanqiutan), the Imperial Vault of Heaven (Huangqiongyu) and the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest (Qiniandian) from south to north.
Hongqiao Market-As Hongqiao Market is the largest pearl distribution center in North China, visitors like to call it Hongqiao Pearl Market. One remark can prove the fame of Hongqiao Market at home and abroad:” Hongqiao Market is the Great Wall in the hearts of foreign ladies. Without visiting the Great Wall means not truly visiting China. Without visiting the Hongqiao Market when a foreign lady comes to Beijing means that she does not visit Beijing.
The Hongqiao Market is generally divided into the front and back buildings, among which the latter consists of four floors mainly dealing in stationery, gifts and toys and the former is constructed in ancient building style and consists of eight floors with five on the ground and three under ground, totally covering a building area of 32063 m2. In addition, the Tainlongchang Market and the Tianle Toys Market are its affiliated ones.

Beijing has a weath of history, with its architectural wonders no other city in China attracts more visitors.
One of the most famous attractions of Beijing is the ancient structure, the Great Wall of China and the tour will visit the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. This portion of the wall was built during the Ming Dynasty and was originally built to protect the Chinese Empire against intrusions or any military attacks.
The Forbidden City was the Imperial palace during the Ming and Qing Dynasties and was home to 24 emperors during this time. It is now known as the Palace Museum and is a treasure trove historical buildings and artifacts.
Just next to the Forbidden City you will find Tiananmen Square. Located in the heart of Beijing, Tainnanmen Square has been the site of several important events in Chinese history.

Tour starts at Tiananman Square, to witness Mao's influence on modern China. From there you will proceed to the Forbidden City, the largest and best-preserved ancient imperial palaces group with 500 years history in the world.

This tour allows you a glimpse of Beijing of the past and a look at Beijing of the present. Mutianyu is one of best preserved parts of the Great Wall. Located approximately 70 kilometres from the city, it was built as part of the defense for the Capital and the imperial tombs. The section of the wall that can be seen today was built during the Ming Dynasty.
This is followed by a visit to the Ming Tombs. Located at the foot of Tianshou Mountain and covering an area of 80 square meters, the Ming Tombs is the site of the mausoleums of thirteen of the emperors of the Ming Dynasty.
The tour will first visit the Ming Tombs. The thirteen Ming Tombs are the best-preserved Chinese imperial tombs with 500 years history. You will visit Changling, the head and the largest tomb of Ming Tombs, where Emperor Yongle (the first emperor in Beijing) and his Empress Xu were buried.
Followed by a visit to a jade carving factory and traditional Chinese lunch. After lunch, the tour will visit the Badaling Great Wall. Badaling section is the most famous and best-preserved wall. Tour starts with visit to Beijing Zoo where you can see the lovely Giant Pandas. The tour will then visit the famous Olympic venues, the Birds Nest and the Water Cube. Early morning start to the day with a simple breakfast then drive to the Jinshangling section of the Great Wall. Jinshanling Great Wall is located about 130 km from downtown Beijing.
The Jinshanling Great Wall was first constructed built in the Ming Dynasty. The famous general, Xu Da, of the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) supervised and directed the construction of the Great Wall. Later, Qi Jiguang led a number of defense works while guarding the north area in 1567.
The round trip hike is about 10 km and takes about 4 hours. Each tower has its unique feature and look. There are relatively less crowded here at Jinshanling Great Wall, it is a nice place to explore the Great Wall in Beijing. After lunch, transferred back to your downtown hotel in Beijing.
