Underwater World is one of the largest marine and freshwater aquaria in Asia. Highlights include gigantic 15-meter long walk-through tunnel housing 500,000 litres of seawater and many big fishes and sea creatures such as sharks, stingrays, huge turtles. There is a spectacular “penguinarium” with an underwater tunnel for visitors to view swimming penguins. Other attractions include the Freshwater Fish Section, the Seashell Display, the Koi Pond, the Reptilian Section and the Coral Reef Section.
The Langkawi Crocodile Farm is located at Teluk Datai, approximately 30 km away from Kuah Town. Spread over 20 acres of land, the farm houses more than 1,000 crocodiles and alligators. You will be in for a unique experience as you set out in the morning to be the Indiana Jones of the East. Culminating this tour is a visit to Laman Padi, Malaysia’s only rice garden and museum showcasing the various aspect of padi cultivation, from its rich heritage and history to its recent developments while viewing fascinating exhibits at the Museum.
This tour package will allow guests to experience first hand, the wonderful and exciting Malay traditional cultures which make up a large part of Langkawi. Set-up in the midst of a traditional Malay village, guests will have the chance to explore the serenity of the village, meet the local people, taste the food and enjoy the simplicity of life in a village. Upon arrival, guests will be taken up to the main house and a brief walkabout of the house will be conducted for the guests to get the feel of what a Malay house is all about.
Afterwards, guests are taken for a walk around the village where they can have a closer look at how the locals live. Guests will also be able to see vast paddy fields, free roaming life stock, some trees and plants that are used in our traditional medicines and also the villagers going about their daily life. Coming back to the main house, guests will start with preparing food for lunch. This includes guest participating in coconut de-husking, grating using traditional tools and milking it to be used for cooking later.
Then guests will be divided into groups to start preparing ingredients for cooking where activities such as cutting and cleaning meat, chicken, fish, spices and vegetables will be done. All these will be cooked by our staff with the assistance from the guests. Here the guests will be able to see how the local prepare and cook their daily food and how tedious the processes are. Lunch will be served using trays on a raised platform (balai hidang) and guests are invited to have their lunch sitting cross legged and using their hands instead of cutlery which is how the local Malays eat (tables & chairs, forks & spoons are available for guests who prefer using them). Afterwards, guests are invited to the main house once again and each couple will be seated on the dais (pelamin) and become a bride and groom for the day!!!
