Our tour begins in Krakow’s Old Town Square - one of the largest original market squares in Europe. Here you’ll get an introduction to Polish history and culture and learn about the origins of Krakow before taking a short stroll to pick up the bikes. Once equipped we’ll head through the lush green Planty gardens to some of the oldest fortifications in the city - parts of the medieval city wall, the Barbican and the Florian Gate. Here we learn about the attacks on the city in the distant past before we get to meet one of the most important Queens of Poland - Jadwiga, and hear her story.
Continuing our ride through the old moat gardens we’ll explore the Jagiellonian University buildings with their medieval courtyards and ornate clocks, and then we see the Bishop’s Palace and the window of Pope John Paul II and get a glimpse of Oscar Schindler’s house.
As we approach the river you’ll get a proper look at Krakow’s historic castle - the Wawel - and learn all about the dragon that resides beneath the hill. He may even breathe fire just for you! We’ll then cruise along the banks of the Vistula before crossing the river to the Podgorze district. Here we’ll learn about the devastating events of WWII and see the areas of the former Jewish ghetto, the remains of the ghetto walls and take a look Oscar Schindler’s factory.
In the final leg of our tour we’ll head back to downtown Krakow and explore the bohemian Kazimierz district - but first we take a break in a cosy restaurant to taste some of the local Polish and Jewish cuisine (included in the tour price). Take your pick from a list of traditional dishes - your guide can help you choose something to your taste!
After lunch we’ll take a look around the Jewish district of Krakow, check out the most important synagogues and landmarks and see how the area has now become the trendy bar and restaurant district in the city. We make our way back to the office via the famous “Royal route” with a final glimpse of the castle and old town square before finishing the tour.

A trip to Krakow wouldn’t be complete without seeing it’s great Catholic and medieval sights. Join us on this tour of Krakow’s most important and unique churches, cathedrals and learn all about its historic castle area too.
We’ll start at our office in the heart of the Old Town and take a short stroll to the ornate baroque church of St Anne before catching the unveiling of the altar inside St Mary’s Basilica (entry included) and the oldest church in Krakow - St Adalbert’s in the centre of the biggest medieval market square in Europe.
We’ll then make our way into the Franciscan church (entry inside) with it’s magnificent stained glass windows and cloister, where we’ll also learn about Krakow’s unique Christmas traditions and see the hall of important Polish religious figures. The Bishop’s Palace (outside only), once home to Pope John Paul II, is next and we’ll see his famous window before walking down the oldest street in Krakow to take in the church of St Peter and St Paul and hear the story of the nuns of St Claire the Poor.
We’ll finish our tour with the jewel in Krakow’s crown - the Wawel Cathedral (entry included) and castle area where you’ll hear the stories of years gone by and get to know the most prominent figures in Krakow’s history. In the castle area we’ll also visit the inside of the cathedral and get a close up view of the legendary Sigismund bell from the top of the belltower.

Here we’ll not only visit the memorial to those who perished during the war, but also hear the heroic stories of those who risked their livelihoods to save others, including Oscar Schindler.

From here we’ll set out to discover some of Krakow’s most famous sights - St Mary’s basilica (outside only), Cloth Hall, Rynek, Town Hall, Jagiellonian University and the Franciscan Church. An introduction to the rich Polish history and culture and you’ll get to know some of the characters that have made Krakow and Poland the majestic places they are today. We will explore the winding cobblestone streets of Krakow’s old town, containing hidden gems and lesser-known attractions.
During the next part of the tour we’ll head down to the bohemian Kazimierz district to learn all about Krakow’s Jewish community past and present. You’ll take in the oldest synagogue, the old Jewish cemetery and Remu’s synagogue (all sights outside only) - where you’ll hear all about the far-reaching contributions made by the Jews from this area throughout history. For the final leg of the tour we’ll climb the slope up to Krakow’s Castle area - the Wawel. The Vistula River boat trip departs close by Tour Stop No. 1/ Wawel. Our staff will be on site to provide customer assistance. The frequency is every half an hour starting at 10am until 6pm and its duration is approximately 30/40 minutes. Customers will be able to see an alternative view of Krakow from the water whilst travelling towards the beautiful Benedictine Tyniec Abbey.
In view of the World Youth Day, which will be held in Krakow in July 2016, and the visit of Pope Francis, the Auschwitz Birkenau State Museum will be open in this period to visitors under specific conditions. Tour will be conducted on a specially prepared route.
