This afternoon, transfer to Yangon Heritage Trust’s downtown office where their specially-trained guide will give a briefing about the progress, and challenges to come, of preserving the city’s buildings. Afterwards, begin a 2.5 hour walking tour through central Yangon. Starting at Yangon’s Heritage Trust Office on Lower Pansodan Road and Highlights include City Hall, the High Court and the former Burma Railways Company – one of Yangon’s oldest administrative buildings. Stay overnight at hotel in Yangon(Summit Park View).

Day 2 - Yangon sightseeing and shopping.
After breakfast, you will visit Sule, City Hall, and the High Court (noted for its British colonial architecture including its clock tower and its red-bricked exterior). You’ll then visit Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, which is famous for its huge image of a reclining Buddha and which was built in 1966 to replace the old image built in1907. You will also have the option to visit Kandawgyi Lake and surrounding areas, which offer numerous photo opportunities. In the early evening, you will visit Strand jetty to witness the daily life of the local people and Yangon River, which offers a remarkable atmosphere with spectacular colors and photo opportunities. Next, you will go shopping at the Bogyoke market (formerly ""Scott market"") where you can get a wide range of Myanmar handicrafts, jewelry, fabrics and lacquer ware. Time permitting, your guide will bring you to the famous MK gems shop, where high quality gems are displayed in eight different decorated show rooms.

From here, continue to Shwedagon Pagoda the most revered Buddhist temple in Myanmar. Although the origins of the pagoda are unclear, the local legend states that the original structure was built 2500 years ago then renovated several times until taking its current shape in the 15th century. The 8-sided central stupa is 99 meters tall and gilded with gold leaf and is surrounded by 64 smaller stupas and your guide will show you around the massive complex, explaining why this temple is so revered. After breakfast, overland drive to Kyaik Hto to go to the Golden Rock (driving hour about 4 hours). One the way, we visit to Htaukkyant War Cemetery. Then proceed to overland driving to Golden Rock. Arrive at pilgrim-village is a starting point to the famous Golden Rock. From our hotel in Kyaikhtiyo we first take a truck and then enjoy the trekking to Golden Rock, it will take about 1 hour up the hill to enjoy the sunset at the Golden Rock. The famous 'Golden Rock' is a sacred, massive gold-leafed boulder delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff near the top of Mt. Kyaikhtiyo and it is one of the most revered Buddhist shrines. After lunch, you will visit a local family workshop to watch the production process of lacquer ware, one of Myanmar’s best-known handicrafts. Then you will continue on to Thatbyinnyu Pagoda (Bagan's tallest temple at almost 217 ft) and Nanpaya temple (a unique sandstone monument). Then you’ll enjoy the breathtaking sunset from Shwesandaw Pagoda, the most popular sunset-viewing spot in Bagan. You will stay overnight in Bagan (BaganThande Hotel).

After breakfast, we’ll take a break from temple touring in Bagan to visit Mount Popa and Salay. Start with a drive to Chauk to visit the fabulous morning market, filled with locals buying and selling their goods. Continue on to the village of Salay, an important Buddhist centre, and visit its famed wooden monastery with intricate carvings. (Note: Salay monastery museum closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and public holidays). This afternoon we’ll arrive at Mt Popa, an extinct volcano standing 1518 metres high. Mount Popa has played an important role in Myanmar culture, religion and history since earliest times. Its shrine is dedicated to the worship of the 37 Nats, the Burmese ancient animist spirits (climb is optional!). In the late afternoon, we’ll drive back to Bagan and transfer to your hotel. You will stay overnight in Bagan (Bagan Thande Hotel).

Day 4 - flight from Bagan to Mandalay and Mandalay, Amarapura Sightseeing.
This morning fly to Mandalay. Head to the top of Mandalay Hill to enjoy magnificent views of the city and Irrawaddy River. In the afternoon, we’ll drive to Amarapura, a former capital whose name means ‘City of Immortality’. First visit a silk weaving workshop which produces exquisite handmade products and then visit Mahagandayon monastery, when over one-thousand monks reside. After touring this tranquil site, continue to U Bein Bridge, the world’s longest and 200 year-old teak bridge. Enjoy a stroll along the bridge and the fabulous views of the surrounding farms and streams. Stay overnight at hotel in Mandalay (Sedona Hotel).

Transfer to Pazundaung Train Station to board an electric trolley. A recent edition to Yangon’s public transportation system, the single carriage cars now run from eastern downtown, traveling along Strand Road to Chinatown. The ride chugs along, passing small markets, track-side tea shops and lively neighborhoods before reaching the industrial areas of the eastern riverfront. Alight at Botahtaung Pagoda for a visit. Believed to be as old as Shwedagon, Botahtaung is one of Yangon’s most famous religious sites. The interior has a mirrored maze-like configuration and houses a hair relic of Buddha. The pagoda was completely destroyed during WWII, and rebuilt shortly thereafter.

Afterwards take a trishaw ride along Strand Road. The ride ends at the Secretariat, considered the city’s grandest colonial building, where a short walking tour of downtown begins. Along the way, stop at the historic Armenian Church, Gandhi Hall, High Court, Mahabandoola Park and Sule Pagoda. Stop for lunch at Rangoon Tea House, a new take on a traditional Burmese tea shop located in a renovated colonial building. After, head to Pandsodan station to board the electric trolley for a ride into Chinatown to explore one of the city’s liveliest neighborhoods. Wander along 17th Street where our first stop is Sit Teik Tong Temple, a clan house traces its heritage back for 23 generations. The top floor affords incredible river views. The street is chock full of Chin ese styled terrace houses, food vendors and shops selling fresh produce and dry goods. Take the opportunity to taste some of the offerings.

Finally, transfer back to the hotel.

The 3 hour walking tour will cover 4-5 kilometers in the central districts of downtown. Many of the buildings visited are on the Yangon City Heritage List, a list of 188 men -made structures mainly consisting of religious landmarks and colonial-era buildings.

Highlights include City Hall, the old railway station and the former Minister’s office where General Aung San was assassinated. Interspersed in the guided walk are various religious sites such as the St Mary’s Cathedral, built in 1899, and the Buddhist landmarks of Sule Pagoda and Botataung Pagoda.

By walking through the streets you’ll also have a chance to witness the lifestyles of the locals- from the busy bus and boat stations to the tea shops and hidden street markets. There are plenty of chances to interact with Yangon residents and learn more about the Burmese culture.

Next we’ll stop for a cup of tea or coffee at Lat Ywae Sin, a favorite tea shop with the locals. Busy from morning until night, this shop roasts its own coffee and has unique wood carvings on its wall. If you are feeling hungry, they are famous for their semolina cake and also offer great noodle dishes (drinks only; food not included).

If your feet are tired we recommend heading to the 6th floor of Sakura Tower for a rejuvenating foot massage performed by local blind masseurs who have been trained in traditional Japanese reflexology (additional fee will apply).

This fascinating half-day experience begins with an early pick-up from the hotel, before transferring to Hlawga Park to begin this bird watching adventure.

To ensure the most is made from the experience, a local bird expert will be on hand throughout the day. Once inside the park, the first stop is Hlawga Lake. This area abounds with all sorts of wildlife; birds in particular. Receiving a booklet about the birds of the park, visitors are provided a great way to keep track of what is spotted during the tour.

A few of the highlight species include: the Oriental Darter, the Racket-tailed Treepie, the Asian Fairy Bluebird, and (found only in Southern Myanmar) the Red –Eye Stripe-throated Bulbul.

In addition to the many bird species, it is possible to get a glimpse of the very rare Brow Antlered Deer.

After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to the Nanthida Jetty to board a ferry to cross the Yangon River to Dhala.

The jetty is often buzzing with activity as a mini-street market is there to sell snacks and other items to the ferry passengers. The boat ride to Dhala takes 15 minutes and offers great views of the waterways as well as a fun chance to interact with the curious locals as they make their way across the river.

Upon reaching Dhala, travel by local trishaw through the town. The scenic town is Rema Kkably different from nearby Yangon, with many trees, local neighborhoods and quiet side streets filling the area. While in Dhala you’ll visit the market and have plenty of opportunities to stop and interact with the friendly locals.

After visiting the village and market, proceed to the monastery to learn about monastic life in Myanmar. The monastery also serves as a community centre and is an important part of rural Burmese life.

Return by boat to Yangon, observing life along the river and reflecting back on your excursion to Dhala. Upon returning to the Yangon jetty, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Travel through the streets of Yangon to Shwedagon Pagoda. Kids will love visiting around the pagoda as there are many fun activities and interesting things to learn. They can make wishes by tossing coins into bowls, make an offering at their ‘animal’ post and see the unusual ‘neon’ Buddhas in the prayer hall.

After visiting the pagoda, take the eastern stairs to the ‘monks market’ where everything from monk robes to alms bowls are sold. It is a colorful spectacle that kids will love.

Next make a stop at Mahawizaya temple where kids can have a chance to feed the fish. Feeding temple fish is a way that the local Buddhist make merit, but great fun for kids who can see the giant fish swim to the surface for a bite of food. From here our car will transfer us to downtown and the fabulous Bogyoke Market. Also known as Scott Market, the building is filled with stalls selling local handicrafts such as marionettes, laquerware and jewelry. To get your family into the local spirit, purchase a traditional longyi, the sarong-like skirt worn by men and women, for everyone and try thanaka, the local yellow paste used as sun-cream. Take a family photo- a perfect snapshop memory of your day in Yangon.

Around midday we’ll head to Kandawgyi Park in central Yangon. With its large lake, views of Shwedagon, replica royal barge and shady walking paths this park is popular with local families and a great place to relax and enjoy lunch (client’s account). Explore and play in the park or relax by the waterside and enjoy the views.

Return to downtown around 15.00 and cool off with an ice cream at Shwe Pa Zun (client’s account) a popular sweet shop which sells an array of homemade treats. The sweets are delicious and it is a great place to meet friendly local families.

Finally, return to your hotel in Yangon or transfer to a restaurant of your choosing for dinner.

With your Travel guide and car, depart this morning for the one-hour drive to Syriam. Also referred to as Thanlyin, Syriam has an interesting past first rising to prominence as a port during the 15 th century, then briefly falling under Portuguese rule in the 17 th century, serving as the base for the French East India company and finally joining the British empire. These days Syriam is home to three universities and, despite its proximity to Yangon, remains a quiet, sleepy town.

Upon arrival we'll explore this pleasant town, driving around the tree-lined streets to see the main sites and get a glimpse of local life. Visit the hilltop pagoda at Kyaik Khauk, which is 4 kilometres outside of the town centre, and offers fabulous views including Shwedagon Pagoda in the far distance. Also visit Ye Le Pagoda (also called Kyauktan) which is built on a small island. We'll take a local boat across to this unique temple.

Then we'll begin the drive back to Yangon, arriving mid-afternoon.

After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to a jetty on the Yangon River. Board a riverboat for a 2-hour cruise to Twante. The boat features a covered, open-air, two-deck boat with ample space for relaxing and enjoying the views. As you leave the city, the river begins to narrow into smaller canals providing an up-close look at life on the river- fishermen, villages and small rowboats ferrying passengers and goods along the water.

Reaching Twante, we’ll go ashore to explore this peaceful town which is known for its pottery. During your visit, you will see many local potteries using traditional methods to craft earthenware, pass by rural neighborhoods and meet friendly locals. You’ll also travel by local horse cart through the town streets, passing by the market and Shwesandaw Pagoda

. Return to the harbor at midday and embark on the return cruise to Yangon. Lunch will be served on board and you will arrive back in the city around 15.00-15.30. Your car will be waiting to transfer you back to the hotel.
