The Templars had an important role in all of the great epochs and battles of Portugal, from the time of D. Afonso Henriques (the first Portuguese King) to the Discoveries. The Templars, and later on the “Order of Christ”, were installed in Tomar and it became the Templar.
Capital of Portugal and Spain and one of the most important in the medieval world. The Almourol and Tomar castles are perfect examples to understand the mystic of the Templars, men who were simultaneously Warriors, Knights and Monks. You’ll visit also the natural beauty of Constância and also its one and only delicious regional pastry.
Meeting/pick-up point: Pick-up time around 8.30pm but to be informed 24/48 hours before the tour.
