Información

Our visit will consist on a journey through centuries to know the history of Cusco, the capital of the Incas, considered the "navel of the world". The tour begins at the main square also called Aucaypata Square. Here, we describe the original design of the square and show visitors the location of the main Inca temples and buildings, using supporting audio, infographics and photographic material that will be delivered to all members of the group. Then we will go to the Regocijo Square also called Cusipata Square.

Here, we discover the functions performed in this square in Qosqo Inca times. We continue our journey towards the Francisco Square to appreciate its church, Arch and the National College of Sciences, one of the most emblematic and old of Cusco. Then visit the San Pedro Market, to discover various typical products of the region and appreciate how this day the people of Cusco carry out their trading activities.

Afterwards we will visit the church and convent of Santa Catalina which were built on top of the "Acllahuasi" (House of the chosen? in Quechua), or Temple of the Virgins, that was the place where "acllas” lived (women chosen for his lineage and beauty, offered as wives to the sun god, Inti). The church has a beautiful chapel of baroque architecture, a religious and colonial art museum. Right away we will go to Coricancha. Was the main Inca temple, the Temple of Inti (the sun god), built in blocks of carved granite and gold melted in the joints of the blocks. When the Spaniards arrived, they built on top of the temple the Catholic church of Santo Domingo.

The tour continues to the Stone of 12 Angles; a stone embedded in an Inca wall that was carved so that it has 12 angles that fit perfectly with the surrounding rocks. Finally, we end the tour discovering San Blas; the most bohemian neighborhood where many artists and craftsmen live, and where we can enjoy panoramic views of the city of Cusco.
