Your day will start with a visit of Aladzha Rock Monastery. This is one of the few preserved and accessible rock monasteries in Bulgaria, dating from the early middle Ages. Explore the monk cells cut deep into the limestone plateau near Varna. Then go deep in history with a visit of the Roman Baths, which were built upon more than 7000 sq.m. and used to be the largest antique public building in Bulgaria. A stroll round the unique architectural monument (magnificent baths, dating back to the 2nd century AD) will take you back in time to the fascinating life of the ancient Romans. Right next to the Roman Baths is the church St. Atanasii. This is the old metropolitan church, rebuilt in 1838, after being burn down in 1836. On the second floor of the church, there is a large icon collection from 18-19 century. Refill your energy with a tasty lunch in the folk style restaurant “Kashtata”. Have some time on your own in the center of Varna or in Varna Mall.
