This is the ultimate tour of Sal. In just half a day, you’ll see everything from volcano craters to kitesurfing beaches. First up, you’ll scramble aboard a monster car, before heading off to Ponta Preta Beach. There’s a reason this is one of Cape Verde’s most-wanted photo stops. As well as supersized sands, you get a lighthouse and an ocean full of somersaulting kitesurfers. The huge cars come in to their own as you head off road towards the island’s birthplace, Pedra de Lume. This dormant volcano crater doubles as a massive salt lake. Next, you’ll zoom past Shark Bay, where you could spot bull and tiger sharks slicing through the waves. Your guide will head off road again to get to Kitebeach – a world-famous haven for kitesurfers. On the way back to base, you’ll pass by Angulo Beach before winding back through Santa Maria’s brightly-coloured streets.
