Opting for this two-day tour, you would be able to experience the cultural legacy of millennia in 48 hours, visiting the ancient Cities of Ephesus and Pergamum.
DAY 1: Istanbul, Ephesus and Izmir
Private early morning transfer to the airport. Upon your arrival at Izmir airport, your car will be ready for you for a drive to Ephesus. The tour of this Roman capital of Asia Minor includes the Odeon, the Marble Street, the Hadrian Temple, the Celcius Library and the Great Theatre. You may opt for lunch in a local restaurant, before paying a pilgrimage visit to the House of Virgin Mary. This Christian and Muslim shrine is located in the vicinity of Ephesus; and it is believed by many that Virgin Mary was taken to this stone house by Saint John and lived there. You will spend the night in Izmir, one of Turkey’s most beautiful cities, reckoned for its unique character.
DAY 2: Izmir, Pergamum and Istanbul
After breakfast, an hour´s drive will take you to another ancient city, The Pergamum. You will once again walk through the ages, visiting the Acropolis and the Asklepion, which indeed has been an inspiration, as well as a prototype for the modern healthcare center of our day. You may opt for having lunch at a local restaurant during your tour. Your car will then take you back to Izmir Airport for the flight to Istanbul. The tour will end with a private transfer to your hotel.
