Nuremberg is a city with an eventful history and with this tour you’ll get to know the landmarks, both past and present of this vivid city. To continue our full day tour we spend the rest of the day in Rothenburg ob der Tauber – the best preserved medieval town in Germany.
Once the focal point for the ‘Third Reich’, Nuremberg is a city that lives to tell the tale. Discover the mighty Imperial Castle (Kaiserburg), residence of the Emperors of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation as well as the House of Albrecht Dürer, the most famous son of the city and one of ‘the greatest European artists’. The expansive main square, home to the famous Christmas market, the church of St. Lorenz, the Church of Our Lady with the Running Men clockwork, the Crafts Yard and so much more will open up before your eyes on your tour.
Next we head on to the medieval town of Rothenburg, above the Tauber River Valley on the Romantic Road. Amble through the picturesque old lanes and castle gardens with your guide and see the St. Jacobs Church, half-timbered houses, city gates and the mighty Renaissance Town Hall. Enjoy some free time in this beautiful town; with intriguing museums at your fingertips and delicious local delicacies to try.
