East meets west on this trip, as you cross the border into neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina for a visit to the country’s cultural capital, Mostar. The city is home to one of the most famous bridges in Europe, the Stari Most. It was built during the Ottoman Empire and is considered one of the most important pieces of Islamic architecture in the Balkans. Bridges aside, you’ll be given a guided walking tour of the historic city – a true melting pot of cultures and religions. Your guide will lead you around the cobbled old bazaar, a well-preserved traditional Turkish home and one of the many mosques. After the tour, you’ll have the afternoon free to explore for yourself. Spend some time in the old craft shops or enjoy a traditional Turkish lunch overlooking the world-famous Medieval bridge.
