From Florence we drive along the Tyrrhenian coast to reach the beautiful villages of Cinque Terre. Catch sight of the white marble quarries of the Apuan Alps along the way before arriving into the beautiful Riomaggiore, characterised by medieval colored tower-houses, steps, alleys and small squares, nestled between two steep hilly terraces. Stroll along the romantic Via dell’Amore to Manarola, surrounded by vines, olive trees and fragrant Mediterranean maqui.

Continue to Vernazza, known as one of the most beautiful hamlets in Italy, perched on the cliff top stretching out to the sea with a small port set against lush green hills. Admire the houses and lose yourself in its maze of lanes, before heading out to Portovenere by boat. Enjoy an hour’s ride admiring the arches of the rugged coast on our way. A gemstone rich in history and art, Portovenere is an ideal place to wander along the seaside and admire its ancient landmarks. Visit the Gothic Church of San Pietro and see medieval sculptures before returning to Florence filled with the hazy romance of the Ligurian Coast.

Meeting/pick-up point: Pick up at the hotel if located centrally, or Piazza della Repubblica, in front of Caffè Gilli.
