A 5 day/4 nights special fully guided Umrah tour package in Istanbul with 3 days sightseeing of the great Islamic sights in Istanbul and Bursa.
Day 1 - Istanbul - Arrival Day
Meet at the airport and transfer to your hotel. You will be given your room key and the rest of the day is yours to explore Istanbul. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 2 - Istanbul Islamic and Sahabe Tour
After breakfast at 8:30am we begin the Istanbul Islamic and Sahabe Tour. Istanbul has been the centre of religion for centuries. During the Ottoman period the Islamic religion spreaded througout the city. The first mosque in Istanbul was built in Kadikoy on the Asian side of the city, which was conquered by the Ottoman Turks in 1353AD. The first mosque on the European side of Istanbul was built inside the Rumeli Castle in 1452. The first grand mosque which was built in the city proper is the Eyup Sultan Mosque (1458). Next to Eyup Sultan Mosque we will visit the tombs of the Sahabe, which is very famous in Turkey for being the burial place for the first generation of Muslims, who had come as far as Istanbul and besieged the city. The tour finishes with a visit to the Suleymaniye Mosque built during the latter part of Suleyman the Magnificent’s long and prosperous reign, which stretched from 1520 to 1566. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 3 - Istanbul - Bursa Tour
After breakfast at 7:30am depart from the hotel and drive to Bursa for a guided tour of the city. This tour will include all the famous Islamic heritage places as well as other places of interest including the Ulucamii (Great Mosque), Cumalikizik Village, the Green Mosque, Green Tomb, Ozdilek Home Textiles Factory. Return to Istanbul at approximately 6pm. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 4 - Istanbul City Tour
Pick-up at 8:30am from your hotel for a tour of the old city, known as Sultanahmet.
We begin with the St. Sophia Museum, an ancient basilica built by Constantine the Great in the 4th century AD and reconstructed by Justinian in the 6th century, it is one of the architectural marvels of all time. We next visit Topkapi Palace, the great palace of the Ottoman Sultans between the 15th and 19th centuries housing an exquisite collection of cyrstal, silver, and Chinese porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures and the Holy Mantle; enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed. Moving on to the Sultanahmet Imperial Mosque built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet, it is known as the Blue Mosque because of its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles. After this we visit the Hippodrome, scene of chariot races, with the three monuments, the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine. Free time is given at 1pm for lunch before visiting the Grand Bazaar, a labyrinth of streets and passages with more than 4,000 shops, each trade having its own area; the goldsmiths'
Meeting/pick-up point: At Istanbul Atatuk Airport or Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Transfers from Ataturk airport to your hotel are included, if you arrive at Sabiha Gokcen there is an extra charge.
