Walk in the footsteps of Robert Langdon in Florence and see all the iconic places he saw in Dan Brown’s latest novel, Inferno.
HIGHLIGHTS:
* Explore the amazing Palazzo Vecchio, one of the most iconic buildings of Florence
* Escape from the room of the maps through the same secret passage as Langdon
* See Florence from the top of the cupola and the campanile of the Duomo
The tour begins at the Palazzo Vecchio, where you will see stunning frescoes by Vasari with the message “cerca trova” (seek and you shall find), and statues of members of the Medici family, plus an authentic Michelangelo. See then the private quarters of the Gran Duchess Eleonora, the death mask of Dante Alighieri and the room of the maps, from where you’ll escape using the same secret passage as Langdon.
Once outside, you’ll see the bell tower where Mr Zobrist commits suicide at the beginning of the book, and also the place where Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa. Continue then to the home of Dante Alighieri and his church, before heading towards the awe inspiring Duomo, which you’ll be able to climb at the end of the tour to contemplate a breathtaking view of the city. We’ll also go to the Baptistery and see the plaque about the black death and the gates of paradise, a true renaissance masterpiece, before entering and admiring the beautiful mosaics on the roof.
