A wonderful journey into the past and present of Yucatan, full tour of the most representative history of the haciendas in the state. You will visit Hacienda San Pedro Chimay route, 25 minutes from the city of Merida. San Pedro Chimay was at first a cattle ranch which, following the economic evolution of the State became a sisal hacienda in the mid-19th century. It is believed to be one of the oldest haciendas in the Merida area, and was founded by the Conquistadores, which would date it to the late 16th or early 17th centuries.
Then you will be taken to HAcienda Teya, possessor of one of the most interesting histories, was founded at the beginning of the 17th century, when it belonged to Alonso Carrio Valdés, a personality from the times of Montejo. Finally we will visit the Hacienda Sotuta de Peon, to travel back in time and go back to the history of the estates of how more than 100 years ago. The tour takes place on trucks, pulled by mules, with metallic wheels traveling over rails Cauville. Extensive sisal plantations welcome us as a prelude to the path that will allow learn about Sotuta de Peon, a live hacienda.
