Dresden offers a great variety of attractions; from notable art treasures and architectural gems to charming landscapes. It’s a place once left on the sidelines that now demands attention, and this tour takes you into the very heart of the city’s history and culture.

The most impressive buildings in Dresden, the royal buildings are magnificent. See the Dresden castle or royal palace, one of the oldest buildings in the city and once a residence for electors and kings. Continue to the rococo style Zwinger Palace across the road, commissioned by Augustus the Strong, and then to the Hofkirche, commonly known as Dresden Cathedral. Located on the banks of the river Elbe, it is said to be the greatest cupola building in Central and Northern Europe.

Stroll by picturesque bridges along the promenade that follows the contours of the river towards the most famous sculpture in Dresden: the golden equestrian sculpture of August the Strong. Spot a few of the many 300 fountains and springs that are dotted around the city, and get a feel for this city that excites the senses.
