11 days of shows, music, games and colours and dressing up. In St. Mark’s Square a cheering crowd can freely attend theatrical performances and parades, concerts, and nights of wild dancing. Everything takes place in this unique environment where you can also enjoy the evening entertainment, including pre-party events with “happy hour” DJ sets.
You can watch shows, concerts and parades from a privileged position that follow one another every day from 11am to 6pm and parade yourself in costume on stage at the Grand Theatre in St. Mark’s Square.
The essence of the Carnival is the mask, and the theatre is the representation of the human comedy and his countless characters. Everyone plays multiple roles in their lives and the Carnival can magically summarize them. You can easily participate in the contests that take place every morning and afternoon, by enrolling online in advance or on the spot at the Grand Theatre in St. Mark's Square. The public will vote to decide your participation in the grand finale!
THE GRAND THEATRE BOXES
The best way to experience the Grand Theatre is from its spectacular Boxes, on three floors of Galleries. Every box has its cosy heated lounge.
You can enjoy the top level restaurant, the plasma screens covering live all the Venice Carnival 2015 Shows or just relax on the couches. Outside on the balcony you can take a look at the shows or just admire one of the most beautiful squares in the world dressed up for its magical Carnival.
GRAND THEATRE FOYER
The foyer area allows a perfect and close vision of shows and parades on the Venice Carnival 2015 Grand Theatre Stage. The area is equipped with chairs and tables offering table service. The right place to experience the real Carnival and photograph every detail outside of the crowd.
Start/opening time: At 11am.
-End/closing time: At 6pm.
Languages: English and Italian.
Others: Free admission for under 16 years.
The full-day ticket for the Grand Theatre boxes is valid from 10.30am to 1pm and from 3pm to 6pm. From 1pm to 3pm the Boxes are reserved to guests with lunch booking.
