The Brijuni Islands are scattered just off the Istrian peninsula, surrounded by the inky Adriatic. The 14 islands and islets blend natural beauty with a rich heritage, and used to be a favoured summertime spot of Austro-Hungarian aristocrats and politicians. You’ll drop anchor at the biggest island, Veli Brijun, which is carpeted with pines, indigenous plants, oak forests and olive groves. A guide will lead you around this national park on foot and by miniature train, which will pass by grassy meadows flecked with grazing deer and mouflons. After the tour you’ll have some free time to explore the landscape on your own, before we board our boat back to the mainland.
