The canyon of the Combeima River is considered to be one of the most diverse places in Tolima when it comes to birds, with two AICAS (conservation and interest areas). We have acknowledged this natural wealth, and prepared an exciting activity, starting in the municipal community of Juntas, near Ibagué - Tolima. We guarantee that you will have a pleasant and restful stay, away from big cities. br />
DAY 1
The adventure begins in the morning in Bogotá, from where we will head to Ibagué, with a stop for lunch in a local restaurant with traditional Colombian food. Later we will enter the Combeima canyon, where you will be able to enjoy a beautiful landscape. Upon arriving to Juntas, we will begin a 30 minute walk through a trail filled with wildlife, leading to an Eco lodge, which will be the final resting place of the whole adventure. Here you will be able to relax and explore this magical place, enjoying views of the mountains and the snowy peaks of the “Nevado del Tolima”, which stands as a silent guardian. You will find this is a magical place.
DAY 2
On this day, we have an early start with a quick breakfast before leaving for the trails in search of endemic species. We will have a specialized guide (ornithologist) to take us on a walk in the trails, where you will appreciate the bird diversity of the region and later that afternoon we will return to the Eco lodge, where we will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch, after which you will feel delighted of having a beautiful adventure, with great pictures to remember it! After a well-deserved rest, we will return to Bogota.
