You’ll become a nosy neighbour on this trip. Leaving from the port of Skala, on the south coast of Kefalonia, you’ll sail steadily over to Zante, to have a poke around its coastline. You get some of the best views of this island from the sea. You’ll see bright white beaches in niches only accessible by boat and glimpse caves burrowing into steep cliff sides like black holes. The most famous beach you’ll see will be Ship Wreck Beach. The wrecked hull of the smuggler’s ship Panagiotis looks like a ribcage on the bright white sand here. The most famous caves you’ll see, meanwhile, are the Blue Caves. These huge natural archways in the rock get their name from the colour of the water that laps them. Not all the views are to be had from the deck of the boat, though. The vessel you’ll be sailing on will have a glass-bottom, so you’ll be able to catch glimpses of the marine life that resides in the sea around Zante. If you want to see the underwater world closer up, you can borrow a mask and breathing tube, and go snorkelling when your captain anchors the boat for a swimming stop.
