Day 1:
Leaving the city via Yura, you will enter Pampa Cañahuas Reserve, an extensive plain where you can see vicuñas, the indigenous Andean camelid that is a national symbol. Then go to Vizcachani, Pampas de Toccra, up to the crater of the Chucura volcano and on to Los Andes Viewpoint at Patapampa (4800 m.a.s.l.), where the volcanoes surrounding Arequipa can be seen. Lunch will be served in the village of Chivay and in the afternoon you can rest in the hotel or visit the thermal springs at La Calera.
Day 2:
After having a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will visit the Condor´s Cross to see the Colca Valley (the second deepest canyon in the world, with more than 4 kilometers at its deepest part) followed by an astonishing sight: the great and majestic condor flying only a few meters away. On the way back to Chivay you will pass through the villages of Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma, Yanque and the view points at Antahuilque and Choquetico. Then you return to Arequipa after lunch.
Meeting/pick-up point: Pick-up at hotels in Arequipa Downtown and hotels located in Chivay (Casa Andina y Pozo del cielo) and outside Chivay (Colca Lodge, Casitas del Colca, Eco Inn, Collahua y Aranwa).
Duration: Two days.
Start/opening time: 8am-8.30am.
End or closing time:4pm-5pm (second day).
