The National Gallery of Portraits in Chandigarh tells about India’s relentless struggle for independence that spanned over two centuries through different photographs of the freedom fighters, various historic events and incidents. There are duplicates of original writings and documents of the freedom fighters and an incredible collection of books on the freedom movement in its library. One can also listen to the recorded voices of some of these great leaders, including Mahatma Gandhi (father of the nation) and Pandit Jawarhar Lal Nehru (First prime-minister of India).
