Join us as we cruise Zante’s waters in search of its most famous residents – the loggerhead sea turtles or ‘caretta-caretta’. These graceful creatures have been nesting on Zante’s beaches for thousands of years. But sadly, they’re now a rare and endangered species. You’ll start by sailing to Marathonisi - a pine-covered islet nicknamed ‘Turtle Island’. The reason’s simple - one of its beaches is a favourite turtle-nesting site. Keep a look out for these magnificent creatures in the surrounding waters and watch for dolphins too. You’ll drop anchor at Marathonisi as well, to give you the chance for a spot of swimming and snorkelling. Next, you’ll cruise to the Keri peninsula, passing its sea caves and lighthouse, a great photograph opportunity and time for another swim stop. Finally, as you sail back across Laganas Bay to Zante Town, you may even spot some more turtles - have your cameras ready just in case. The cru
