A boat trip to a pretty fishing village is on the cards today, followed by a shopping trip to its market. From Marmaris harbour, you’ll sail over to Turunc. This sleepy village edges a horseshoe-shaped bay of glass-like water, and is backed by pine-clad mountains. And, although there are restaurants and a few hotels lined up along the shore, there’s plenty in the way of its old-world charm. Mooring at Turunc, the day begins with a beach break so you can dip into the Mediterranean Sea or relax on the Blue Flag-awarded stretch of shingle and sand. Later, it’s on to the village’s market, where you’ll have some free time to barter with the vendors that flog everything from ceramics and spices, to leather goods and jewellery. Plus, of course, no Turkish market is complete without the obligatory knock-off designer stands.
