Venture into Mozart's world and trace the composer's footsteps through Vienna: visit Mozarthaus Vienna, which houses the composer's only surviving apartment in Vienna, and wrap up the evening at the city's venerable Orangerie Schönbrunn with a concert played by the Schoenbrunn Palace Festival Orchestra featuring the most delightful melodies composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss in a programme that varies from day to day.
The first part of the concert comprises some of the most beautiful overtures, arias and duets from Mozart's operas, including 'Le Nozze di Figaro' (The Marriage of Figaro), 'Die Zauberflöte' (The Magic Flute) and 'Don Giovanni'. The second part of the concert presents the most popular arias, waltzes and polkas from operettas composed by Johann Strauss, the King of Waltzes - from 'Die Fledermaus' (The Bat) and 'Der Ziegeunerbaron' (The Gypsy) to 'Donauwalzer' (The Blue Danube) and 'Radetzkymarsch' (Radetzky March). Two opera singers – a soprano and a baritone – accompanied by a charming couple of ballet dancers, are set to take you through the concert soirée.
