Journey along the awe-inspiring Grossglockner High Alpine Road into the heart of the Austrian Alps. After being picked up from your hotel in Salzburg your private guide takes you on a scenic drive that will also reveal the area’s thousands of years of history.
Find out how it was an important trading route over the Alps as you admire the towering peaks above you, and head deeper into the Hohe Tauern National Park. Arrive at the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs Höhe viewpoint located at 2,369 metres above sea level, where you can gaze out over Austria’s highest mountain, the Grossglockner, and one of the highest peaks in the Alps at 3,798 metres.
Spend time either at the local museum, watching the wildlife or even trekking to the Pasterze Glacier (if you have the right shoes), the longest glacier in Austria and an out of the ordinary experience.
