Prague Castle is the largest Castle complex in the world and consists of palaces, churches, towers and gardens.
Prague castle is actually not a castle, but more a collection of palaces, churches, towers, museums and gardens making it the largest castle in the world. (as listed in the Guinness book of records).
The foundations of Prague castle date back to the ninth century A.D and it is built on top of Petrin hill overlooking Prague city.
During the tour, we will walk across the world famous Charles Bridge which offers you a fantastic view of the castle, making our way up the hill via the Baroque quarter of Mala Strana.
Once arrived at the castle, our guide will show you around the beautiful complex which was also used as the set for the movie Amadeus, about the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The castle has been a seat of power for kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia and is until this day, still the official residence and office of the President. The Bohemian Crown Jewels are kept within a hidden room inside it.
