Enjoy a FULL DAY guided tour in Pergamon, where Aegean Region most beautiful archeological site and one of the Seven Churches of the Apocalypse is located.
Upon our arrival to Bergama town, the soaring marble ruins of the Acropolision become visible immediately. Following our climb on our own vehicle or by taking the cable-car, we learn its history from our expert local guide and stroll through the ruins that are scattered on the four original artificial terraces built on the steep-sided hill by the habitants of the Hellenistic City in the 4th Century BC. After delicious lunch at a local restaurant, we continue our explore with an interesting visit to the Asclepion which was one of three famous medical centers of the ancient world after one in island of Kos and the other in Epidarius in Greece. Getting its name from Acropolision the god of medicine here was made famous by the local physician Galen, the doctor of the gladiators. Before leaving Bergama we also view the Red Basilica (or Kizil Avlu) which was built for the worship to the Egyptian gods during Roman Empire.
