You’ll probably be in no hurry to move from your sunbed, but there’s more to see beyond the beach. This day out lets you follow your senses around the isle, from west to east. You’ll start with a trip to family-run Earthworks Pottery, where you can watch as they make and decorate pots, plates and mugs, and order your own custom-made accessories. You’ll stop in Speightstown for a quick photo of the tropical-coloured houses, before touring one of the three Jacobean mansions left in the Western Hemisphere, St Nicholas Abbey. Heading to the coast, you can snap views from 850 feet above at Cherry Tree Hill, and breathe in the ocean air at boulder-studded Bathsheba beach. And, after a whistle-stop morning of sights and sounds, there’s time for a Bajan lunch at antique-filled Sunbury Plantation House.
