From Daimon Station we head to Roppongi Station via subway, where we start the morning by visiting the Kimono rental shop, where you spend about half an hour choosing a kimono that suits you. You’ll be fitted a colourful and ornate kimono along with a traditional obi (sash) and geta (sandals) whilst learning all about the tradition of kimono wearing in Japan from your guide. If you’re taking part in the experience during the summer months of June to September, then a yukata (light kimono) will be offered. Still worn by Japanese on special occasions, wearing a kimono is a unique experience and one that will make your day in Tokyo a memorable one.
Once you have chosen your kimono, its then time to take to the streets of Roppongi for the best photo opportunities. Enjoy a walk through Tokyo’s cosmopolitan neighbourhood, full of entertainment venues, dressed in Japan’s most traditional dress along the city’s most multicultural streets. If it’s raining on the day of the tour, instead you will enjoy an authentic Japanese tea and snack dressed in a kimono.
