Stockholm. 14 islands, two bodies of water and 57 bridges. Stockholm’s top three sights all in one. In five hours we will cover the city districts of So¨dermalm, Gamla Stan, Norrmalm, O¨stermalm, and Djurga°rden, each with its own special character.
So¨dermalm. This trendy and bohemian area of the city, offers both small wooden houses from the 1700s and a fantastic view of the city.
Gamla Stan. Or Old Town as we would say in English. Where every- thing once began. Small alleyways, cobbled streets, this island is home to the Royal Palace. As we wander the streets the history we will listen to stories and legends that make the Old Town come alive!
Norrmalm. Also known as the City Centre. Great shopping opportunities and the focal point of modern Stockholm. In the back drop see the City Hall, venue for the Nobel Prize Banquet. Why is the Blue Hall not blue? How tall is the tower? How many bricks was used to put the building together? This is one fascinating building!
Östermalm. The city’s most fashionable neighbourhood with stately apartment buildings, fantastic architecture and scenic walkways.
Djurga°rden. Better known as the outdoor recreation centre for the city locals. The island is also home to many of the city’s museums including the Vasa Museum. Imagine a ship from the 1600s which took 20 minutes before going to the bottom of the sea. Today she lies before three years to build, she takes off on her maiden voyages only to sail for us 98 % intact. This is a WOW experience!
