Información

Swim with the largest fish in the oceans and experience first-hand the exhilaration of being so close to the gentle giant that is the whale shark. Despite its fearsome sounding name, this species of shark is docile and allows humans to approach it. Its name comes from the fact that it is as large as some whales.

The Yucatan Peninsula is one of the few places in the world where you can go for a swim with whale sharks. As the boat cruises the western Caribbean, keep your eyes peeled for the awesome whale shark. Once one is spotted, you have the opportunity to jump into the crystal-clear waters and swim alongside it. Have no fear, these gentle animals are harmless, so relax and admire their astonishing grace and size. Keep a look out, too, for dolphins and manta rays, which are both abundant in these parts.

A biologist/naturalist will be on hand throughout the day to answer any questions you may have about the whale sharks and the other wildlife you spot during your adventure. They will also provide you with information on how to interact with the different creatures to ensure you have a safe and fun experience. Sightings of whale sharks are guaranteed but in the unlikely event that there are no sightings on your cruise, you can sail again on the following day free of charge.
