This tour ticks off western Rhodes’ history and culture - far from the buzz of the main resorts. First of all, you’ll be whisked to the Filerimos Cross and Monastery, which is set on a hilltop and flanked by a thick pine forest. The site is made up of a towering stone cross, a small monastery and a little church, and the views from the buildings stretch out across the whole region. You’ll make your way through the green-cloaked countryside next, passing sprawling woodland and fields dotted with lemon trees. After a while, you’ll come to Kamiros, an ancient site that dates back to around the 7th-century BC. 3,000 years on, you can still see the remains of temples, Doric columns and an old marketplace. You'll have lunch in the small, classically-Greek village of Psinthos. While you're here, try the honey that the villagers make too - it's high-quality stuff.
