Información

Our tour follows the footsteps of Oskar Schindler, one of the Righteous among the Nations of the World, who during WWII saved the life of 1100 Polish Jews from Krakow. Schindler is most known thanks to the 1993 Steven Spielberg's movie ""Schindler's List"". The tour is a mixture of both history and film.

Our guide will meet you at noon in our Tourist Information office at 8 Plac Szczepanski, 2 minutes of walk from the Main Market Square of Krakow. From there we will walk through the Planty Gardens to see the former house of Oskar Schindler at Straszewskiego St. Then we will continue to Poselska Street depicted in one of the tragic scenes in the movie. Leaving the Old Town of Krakow we will walk to the Kazimierz Jewish Quarter, where the history mixes with the film. We will see the old Jewish ghetto in Szeroka St. - depicted in the movie as the WII Ghetto. We will also see a couple of streets which were portrayed in various scenes: Ciemna, Jakuba, Jozefa, Skawinska and Krakowska Street.

Then we will walk to the other side of the Vistula River to the district of Podgorze. Via Pilsudskiego Bridge we will walk to the historical WWII Ghetto in Krakow-Podgorze, established in March 1941. We will see the Ghetto Heroes Square and couple of streets depicted in the film: Wegierska, Lwowska St. and most important - the remaining part of the original WWII Ghetto wall.

After that we will walk to the Oscar Schindler's Enamel Factory, depicted in the movie. Today it is one of the branches of the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow. There you can take a short break and follow us inside of this very popular and interesting museum where the next tour starts at 4 pm (not included).
